Kindergarteners have been learning about colonial towns and townspeople. Today’s lesson was on bakers and they made a traditional basic bread recipe that would have been used in the 1700s. #elgerbayexplorers
Yesterday our 4th graders launched rockets they designed as part of a science unit. It was fun for students to see how the different rockets flew and the variations in distance, direction, and height. It was very exciting for students in other grades to watch the launches too!
Last night the Stanwood Camano School Board recognized one of our Elger Bay students with their Shining Star Award. Olivia was recognized for her leadership, dedication, kindness, and willingness to serve others. Congratulations Olivia! #elgerbayexplorers
Last week these kindergarten students made sprout houses to see if they could get Lima beans to sprout! Today kids opened up their sprout houses to examine their beans. Students opened the seeds to see and document the different parts. Science was fun and messy today!
It was a great trip to the middle school today for our 5th graders. The middle school ASB leaders showed students around, played some fun games, and they voted for next years ASB officers. #elgerbayexplorers
For Teacher Appreciation Week several of our 5th grade leaders provided room service to staff delivering goodie bags willed with treats. #elgerbayexplorers

Today was our citizen of the month assembly. Students were recognized for their accomplishments in the areas of writing or showing our Brave expectation of attentive. We also had a lot of fun! Thank you to our 5th grade leaders for their work on the assembly. #elgerbayexplorers
These kindergarten students have been learning about pollination and today they got to pretend to be pollinators during their snack time using cheese balls as pollen! #elgerbayexplorers
Kindergartners have planted radish seeds and are using the scientific method to observe and document the growth of their seeds. Yesterday was exciting as many of the seeds have started to germinate. They are learning that botany is fun! #elgerbayexplorers
Brave stopped by today to recognize classes with Super Sightings for showing our school-wide BRAVE expectations. They were celebrated for their excellent behaviors and earned extra recess. Brave also had a chance to give out some high fives in the hallway. #elgerbayexplorers
Today we had two Good News Calls of the Day! Roman and Silas have been working extremely hard over the past few weeks and it has really shown. They are great examples of what it means to be EMPOWERED. Keep up the great work you two!#elgerbayexplorers
Second grade classes are finishing up a unit on cycles in nature. Mrs. Jansma's class got to watch their caterpillars go through their last molt and watched the chrysalises form. They can't wait for for the next phase of the life cycle. #elgerbayexplorers
