This mini-class by Christina Johns @bitmaize provides students with a hands-on introduction to the IDA interface, and using the IDA debugger.

Dbg1101 is also incorporated into the #OST2 https://t.co/3Q1AXB9fMP x86-64 assembly class as well. Arch1001 students can now do the final binary bomb lab reverse engineering exercise in a tool they're likely to continue to be using throughout their career if they are heading down the reverse engineering learning path. Dbg1101 takes ~1.5h on average to complete, based on beta testing. It is meant for people starting fresh with assembly, as part of Arch1001, but also for people cross-training from another debugger or software reverse engineering multi-tool like Ghidra or Binary Ninja. Dbg1101 will also serve as a prerequisite for the future OST2 static analysis reverse engineering class.

We have updated our course completion certificates to add the average time that it takes to complete the class. This is for folks who'd like an easy way to count that time towards continuing education credits. We don't have good data for our mini, sub-day-classes like the debugger helper classes, only the full day or longer classes. But we'll start collecting that and update it in the future.
