Looking forward to joining the Emerging Leaders Panel on creative, courageous and collaborative leadership at the Public Sector Women in Leadership Conference!
@BritSocCrim Thank you @BritSocCrim! Particularly keen to be pointed in the direction of any illustrative case studies that unpack challenges experienced by victims of intra-familial child sexual abuse when reporting the abuse both contemporaneously and retrospectively.
@Joe0712 Hi @joe0712 - that would be really useful. One area I'm reviewing is how/when intra-familial cases of sexual abuse are generally reported (including initial disclosure, engagement of professional support and/or reporting to police authorities) and what factors may influence this.
@TinaTinde @EpidemicTheBook Thank you @TinaTinde! I’ve read differing estimates - Aust. Bureau of Statistics suggests approx. 50% of child sexual assault victims are abused by a non-familial known person. Will definitely check out @EpidemicTheBook.
