Football is finished, man. Soon, there won’t even be many people left who actually know how to watch it.
Look at Dani Olmo yesterday. He put in a reference level performance as a No.10, one of those games where you can actually learn something by watching him — and barely anyone said a word.
Then you wake up today and X is flooded with posts praising Bellingham.
That’s what football has become for a lot of people. They don’t necessarily talk about the player who actually played the best football; they talk about whoever is more popular, more hyped or gets the most attention.
It’s not about understanding the game anymore. It’s about repeating the names everyone else is talking about.
Olmo can dominate a game technically and tactically, and people will ignore it because he isn’t as popular as Bellingham.
Actually watch football instead of watching the hype.
Deco said yesterday that Barcelona have moved on from Julián Álvarez, wished him all the best, and said that sometimes deals simply don’t happen. He clearly knew the situation.
But now I’m wondering…
Did Deco say that because he already knew what was coming for Manchester City with the sanctions, and that Barça could potentially have a chance to sign Haaland instead? 👀
🚨🇮🇹 Paolo Maldini:
🗣️ “I feel sorry for Pau Cubarsí. With all these names being mentioned for the Ballon d’Or — Lamine Yamal, Harry Kane, Kylian Mbappé and others — no one is even considering Cubarsí for the award. 👀
🗣️ “He literally had the greatest campaign by any defender in the history of the World Cup, and on top of that, he won a domestic double with Barcelona while being impeccable throughout the season. 🔵🔴
🗣️ “I think Pau Cubarsí should be mentioned alongside all those attackers as one of the favourites to win the Ballon d’Or.
🗣️ “In the modern game, defenders have lost the respect they received in the past, when players like Cannavaro and Beckenbauer were recognised among the very best.
🗣️ “Pau Cubarsí is already a defender among those legends, and I genuinely feel he should win the award ahead of any of those attackers.” 🐐🔵🔴

Thierry Henry on Cristiano Ronaldo’s ambition to reach 1,000 career goals:
🗣️ “Cristiano says 1,000 goals is one of his goals, and I respect the ambition. But sometimes in football, we get too obsessed with numbers. A player can score 1,000 goals and still have people asking what made him special beyond the numbers.
For me, football was never only about counting goals. It was about how you played, how you made people feel, how defenders reacted when you were running at them, and whether people remembered the football you played years after you stopped playing.
Cristiano has scored an unbelievable number of goals, nobody can take that away from him. But if you need 1,000 goals to prove you were great, maybe you were already thinking too much about proving a point.
I never played football thinking, ‘I need this many goals so people will call me the greatest.’ I played because I loved the game.
So if Cristiano reaches 1,000, congratulations. But football is bigger than a number.”
🚨 Sergio Busquets has decided his future lies in COACHING and has already begun taking his first steps at Barcelona. 🔵🔴
The Barça legend is working alongside Juliano Belletti with Barça Atlètic, currently focusing on observation and tactical advice, particularly with the midfielders.
He is set to begin his UEFA A coaching course in the coming weeks.

One thing that really stands out to me is how little Mbappé offers Real Madrid when they face their toughest moments. He often looks short of ideas and struggles to find solutions when the team needs him most.
Lamine, even when he’s not at his best, can still have a huge impact on a game. Look at what happened against Atlético after Cubarsí was sent off. Lamine took responsibility, carried the team forward, created two clear one on ones for Raphinha, attracted 3 defenders, dribbled past players and kept creating danger.
That’s what separates them for me. Even on a bad day, Lamine can influence the game in so many different ways.
I understand why some Mbappé fans focus heavily on the numbers, but football is about much more than statistics. Watching both players in difficult moments tells you a lot.
And as a Barça fan, I’m simply grateful that we have the biggest talent of this generation.
🚨🇪🇸 Javier Tebas:
🗣️ “I will not tolerate this defamation of the league from Real Madrid. They are bringing up Negreira and Barcelona again after a defeat against Atlético Madrid, without any reason. 🔵🔴
🗣️ “The court has already cleared Barcelona in the Negreira case, yet Real Madrid still want to keep bringing it up. If they don’t stop, there will be serious sporting and financial punishments against them. ⚠️
🗣️ “Referees make mistakes — that is part of football. But you cannot get away with defaming the league every time there is a decision you don’t like.
🗣️ “There have also been plenty of decisions over the years that have gone in Real Madrid’s favour, like the handball penalty that was not given against Barcelona in 2025.” 🔵🔴
Araujo has come to the premier league and is currently the best right back there
Meanwhile Cucurella is in La Liga dropping stinker upon stinker
Trent Alexander Arnold has been one of the biggest flops at real Madrid
Premier league fans will never talk about this one
So… they tell us Madrid are the biggest, most powerful club in the world while simultaneously playing the victim after every defeat and touting the narrative that Barça control the refs?
Which is it lads?
The fact that Huijsen was once compared to Cubarsí is a crime that deserves jail time for Real Madrid fans. And I’m not even being reactionary over this mistake, Cubarsí has been levels above him for a while now.
I’m not exaggerating when I say the level Cubarsí showed at the World Cup is a level Huijsen will never reach in his entire career.
Sometimes I think to myself that maybe it's better for Lamine to win his first Ballon d'Or in a season where absolutely no one can question whether he deserved it.
But then I realise that season will probably never exist, because some people will never admit Lamine is the best regardless of what he does. They'll always find a reason to discredit him.
We've literally seen what they've done with Messi, with people still calling multiple 100% deserved Ballon d'Ors “robberies.” So how can I expect any sanity from fans like this?
At this point, may Lamine win it every single time he has a chance and let me enjoy the tears.
Unfortunately, what happened with Messi is happening again with Lamine Yamal.
Sometimes, seeing too much brilliance makes people lose their sense of how special it actually is. Messi used to do incredible things on a regular basis, but you rarely saw Barça fans truly appreciate him because the extraordinary had become normal.
Now, the same thing is happening with Lamine Yamal. Just look at yesterday’s game. Lamine ran his heart out, created chance after chance for his teammates, scored a goal and provided 2 assists. Yet somehow, there was barely any discussion on the Barça timeline about what he actually did.
What Lamine Yamal is doing for this team is extraordinary. But as I said, when brilliance becomes a weekly occurrence, some people stop being amazed by it. I just hope people learn to appreciate what this kid is doing every week, because football will not produce players like this every season.
Remember last season when we kept complaining about the left wing? We needed someone who could support the attack alongside Lamine and take some of the pressure off him so he could play with more freedom. Back then, Lamine was literally carrying the team on his own.
Now look at the image above.
Yesterday, Karim Adeyemi and João Cancelo created 18 attacks from the left side, twice as many as the attacks created from Lamine’s side on the right.
That completely changed things. Lamine had less pressure on him, more freedom to play, and now he’s scoring and creating chances with so much more ease compared to last season.
Did anyone really expect Karim Adeyemi to be the one who solves this problem with Gordon and Raphinha also in the squad?
He’s been world class. 👏🏻💙❤️
When Barca were getting humiliated week in, week out during their rebuilding process, struggling financially and getting laughed at by the whole of Europe, nobody said La Liga was a farmers league.
Right now that Hansi Flick turned them into an extremely competitive and lethal team opponents wouldn’t appreciate the work they’ve put in but think the league is trash.
Anyway keep on talking until Barca gets hold of you guys!!!
Luis Enrique has done everything he can to bring Gavi to PSG, and he still wants him. Yet every attempt has failed, even though PSG have a world class midfield and the money to sign almost any player they want.
When Gavi suffered his ACL injury, Flick was one of the people who supported him the most. Even after we signed Rodri and had Xavi Espart and other midfielders available, Flick still refused to let Gavi leave for PSG.
De la Fuente also called Gavi up as soon as he heard he could return before the World Cup and took him to the tournament, despite Spain having so many good midfielders.
Xavi Hernández and Ronald Koeman also trusted Gavi and always rated him highly.
That’s why Gavi’s situation is so strange.
Some Barça fans think he has no place in the team and should leave.
But at the same time, top coaches keep trying to sign him.
There must be something these coaches see in Gavi that many fans don’t.
And so here we are. This statement from Trump blows my mind. That a sitting president would not let any renovations to a public building go on unless he gets to first put his name in the said building… What a sad state of affairs. What a tragedy. Actually, how small minded, how narcissistic. Actually
great men, devoted to public service and the public good do not act like this.
It seems that this man will not rest until his name is permanently connected to the name of a great president, whose memory this building was dedicated to. Imagine spending your time and your days focused on this, as everyday Americans struggle with healthcare, gas prices, rent, and food. Imagine spending your days focused on this, while a war rages under your leadership.
Enough said. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
