Today’s presentation in the @OceanWiseEdu dome began with an acknowledgment of the unceded Anishnabe Algonquin territory we are located on. We are so happy to be learning about ways to be water protectors on National Indigenous Peoples Day! #MONmoments @ocsbindigenous

“It’s like a museum came right to us!” 🤍

@OceanWiseEdu provided real fur for us to learn from, a dome with an imax video experience and real fossils. The children left feeling like we just came back from the Arctic. 🐻‍❄️

It was truly an impactful & insightful presentation.

Remember that time in kindergarten when we made cookies?

I love creating these memories in our classroom. Hearing them laugh, tell stories and traditions with food at their homes. It was truly a lovely and delicious time.

No matter the feeling, sacred, excited, nervous, there is always support and kindness out there.

Having discussions about how we feel provides space and time for children to feel seen, heard and supported. This creates a safe space for learning to happen. ❣️

Play based learning is powerful!

During outdoor learning, a few kinders made boats for the worms and frog we saw. We counted each ship and placed each dandelion with intention and purpose. When we went back, the water was gone!

The students loved doing this stem building challenge today. They created, drew and wrote their creations. The children were working on their critical thinking, hand eye coordination & creativity, all while following their interests. Proud of the progress of our kinder bulldogs.

Today we explored with magnets on our tuff tray. The children were challenged to use the magnets to find all ten paperclips. 🧲📎

Grateful the children got to have an authentic experience raising chicks these past few weeks.

Connecting real animals with children can help build empathy! You can see the bond they share and the caring approach they have with these animals.

We created a roll and create math provocation for one of our centres.

This invitation to learn allows the children to explore, represent and create. This can help lead to confidence in math discussions.
