@TedBlades @CityofStJohns So perhaps e bike store didn’t get much cruise ship business. I doubt their business plan depended on a lot of cruise ship revenue.
Overall, cruise ships generate lot of revenue and jobs into our local. economy. Try focusing on the positive rather than the negatives, please.

@TedBlades @CityofStJohns There was a pilot boat with three crew members plus the pilot. The Port Authority had people on duty especially for the visit. City employees supervised the parking. At least 3 maybe 4. Numerous taxis. Most people on my bus bought souvenirs at Cape Spear gift shop. /3

@TedBlades @CityofStJohns Many passengers walked downtown & I saw a lot of packages in hands as they returned to ship. Several crew members changed out at this stop. So hotels, taxis, meals, and airport staff got a little bit of employment. The City had a water hose connected selling them water. /4

@TedBlades @CityofStJohns There were six buses there. Six drivers (I was one of them) and six guides got a days pay. There were a bunch of onshore tour operators (4 at least). There was a pump truck removing waste water and oil. There were several line handlers for the tie up and cast off. 1/2
