Today in Year 2, they have been working on spellings, symmetry and the next Megastructure in their topic; The Taj Mahal. The children were fascinated by the symmetrical element of the iconic building and did a great job adding features in IT.
When most people are looking to heading home after school on a Friday, Adventure Club are heading out for some fun. Today they were playing wide games near Vazon and were treated to a spectacular sunset too. #loveguernsey📸 Mrs B.
On Monday, six girls travelled to Ladies’ College for the annual gymnastics competition. The standards on show were impressively high and the marking rigorous. Rosie (Yr5) came 1st and Hattie (Yr6) came 3rd! Many congratulations to the whole team.
Year 6 hard at work creating presentations of their English. We’ve watched Epic Citadel, mastered some @alanpeat sentences and recorded ourselves presenting against the background the Epic Citadel.
The 2024 netball fixtures began bright and early with friendly matches against Melrose this afternoon. Both teams played well in the bitterly cold conditions. Lots to build on for future matches. Well done everyone.
ECJS had mixed fortunes at two Football finals yesterday. The B team narrowly lost 3-1 (Oliver O'N) to Castel Primary in the Darling Cup, despite having most of the ball. The A team triumphed 2-0 (Hamish and Sebby) over Castel to win the Boalch Cup. #aimhigh
Continuing the sporting theme, The B Team Netball Tournament was held at La Houguette this week. After some excellent training sessions, the team had some results of which they can be very proud. Hard work definitely pays off - congratulations! 🏐 Thank you to Mrs Reed!
A fantastic morning at the pool. So many records broken; incredible support from poolside and an enormous number of medal winners. Congratulations to all the swimmers and Mr Sargent for coordinating the event. Results to follow after the Year 3 and 4 gala on Tuesday. 🔴🔵🟢🟡
An exciting afternoon for ECJS football. @Eliz_CollSport
Both the A and B teams progressed to their respective Cup Finals with a narrow penalties win over Vale School in each Semi Final. Congratulations to all involved. ⚽️

This afternoon, the rain finally held off for long enough for an away match to be played. LMDC Primary kindly hosted our A, B and C teams. All the games were played in good spirits and bode well for the upcoming house matches. Well done everyone. 📸 Mr Sargent
Today marks the beginning of Anti-Bullying week. To show that ECJS intend to 'make a noise' about bullying, we are all wearing odd-socks today. Max, Arthur and Charlie, lead our assembly today; which included the launching of a sticker competition for all pupils.
Today we commemorated Remembrance Day at the Junior School. We stood in silence to think about all the soldiers who have died in wars around the world. We sang the Poppy Remembrance song and children from Year 6 and Year 2 read out some very thought-provoking poetry.
Following our Harvest Festival, the children took all of our donations from school to the food bank. They were greeted warmly by the staff who were most grateful for all your very generous donations. Thank you everyone #guernseywelfare
