I'm choosing to highlight Slow Dancing with Parkinson's for my #EXS3030 assignment this week. Seeing this athlete still compete at a high level of shooting with PD is truly inspiring!
@docgoble The motor coretex is working to help the athlete carefully control his movements to launch the ball with perfect velocity to go down the lane with the appropriate timing to hit the pin precisely enough to cause it to strike the other parallel pin, again from 0:01-0:03.
@docgoble The vestibular system is working overtime in this case. The receiver is using his vestibular system to maintain his balance while moving down the field, and keep track of where his body is when he makes his jump to receive the pass. ..(continued in my moodle response)
@lewissemilyy I really like this video! I used to work in a PT clinic, and getting people to "feel" the correct muscle working is sometimes a challenge, so with this application it seems to be relatively to activate a given "sleepy" muscle!
