The start of DofE Silver qualifying. A different time of the year the usual and different weather conditions to deal with. Nevertheless, this doesnt stop our groups making good early progress to this evenings campsite. Even better… the rain has finally stopped!
Day 4 and our groups were up and gone by 7:30am. Groups are showing great determination and making solid progress. Symonds Yat rapids are on today’s agenda.
Day 2 began at 6am for Group 1 (no photos at that time) & 7:15am for group 2. Group 1 have just hit today’s halfway mark at 10:30am. Incredible effort!
Our Gold DofE expedition begins today. Both teams were on the water by 8:30am and are making progress. River levels are low and slow but the effort is high!
Difficult to get photos of our Gold students but the last few days our Golds have taken part in paddle training and their practice expedition on the river Trent. They are back in 1 piece with the only damage being terrible tan lines. All in time for their leavers meal/Borneo!
All Bronze and Silver students have slept, recovered and ready to go again. Very good camp etiquette during the night and this morning. Looking like the first group will leave by 7:30am.
Bronze Day 1 / Silver Day 2 - While our Silvers began their 2nd day, the Bronzes arrived ready to begin their 1st. All groups (both Bronze and Silver) making great progress today with our first groups expected into camp within the next hour!
Day 1 of Silver/Day 2 of Silver - all students walked well and refreshed their navigation skills. Followed by team cricket in the evening. This morning they are nearly all packed up by 7:20. Great start.
All our groups finished today meaning they can all complete their qualifying exped. They got up, got going and got it done. One group were happy they were first, although slightly under their time limit. Well done all and thank you @karosadventure for your superb leaders!
Day 2 - We have had a fantastic day with beautiful weather! Activities have consisted of kayaking, zip wires, giant swing along with others. Students are really taking this opportunity and challenging themselves!
