The Environmental Defense Center (EDC) is hailing a judge’s ruling that the Santa Barbara-based environmental-advocacy group is entitled to see a corporate document outlining the “worst-case” dangers of an oil spill if three ExxonMobil platforms off the Central California coast were to restart.
The EDC filed a Public Records Act request seeking Sable Offshore’s contingency plans for an oil spill, but some of the materials were redacted. The Texas-based energy startup has claimed the materials are “trade secrets��.
