Israeli interrogators gave journalist Mohammed Badr a choice: become an informant or remain in prison, he told the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ).
Over 10 months of incarceration, Badr lost 40 kilograms (about 88 pounds). He said he was questioned for hours about his reporting, and struck so hard his tongue was cut, leaving him barely able to speak or eat for two weeks.
CPJ (@pressfreedom) says multiple Palestinian journalists reported they were explicitly targeted because of their work.
