EGM Downloader

Your beautiful, powerful, fast, secure and stable video & audio downloader for 1000+ sites. Windows, macOS, and Linux — no terminal required. Zero telemetry.

[EGM Downloader @EGMDownloader]

@itttwdesu @Techjunkie_Aman You're right, and yt-dlp can do even more than we expose. EGM Downloader is for people who'd rather not touch a config or a terminal: same engine, just a few clicks. If you're comfortable with yt-dlp, you're already set.

[EGM Downloader @EGMDownloader]

@Techjunkie_Aman Thank you, Aman! You covered 1.5 perfectly. SponsorBlock and live stream recording were the two big ones we wanted to get right, and it means a lot that you shared it again so fast!

EGM Downloader just got a HUGE update!

Version 1.5.0 brings some major upgrades:

Standout feature:
• SponsorBlock can automatically remove sponsors, intros, outros and self-promotion

More highlights:
• Live stream recording + automatic reconnect
• Add videos while downloads are running
• Stop and save live recordings
• Subscription settings export/import
• Quit automatically when the queue finishes
• Electron 45 with Chromium 156 + Node.js 24
• 576 automated tests passing

Supported platforms:

• Linux

EGM Downloader 1.5.0 is free and available now.

Would you use this instead of a traditional yt-dlp setup?

EGM Downloader v1.5.0 is out: RAW FEED. 🎉

New here? It's a free, open source app that saves video and audio from 1000+ sites, right on your own computer. No account, no cloud, no tracking.

What's new in v1.5.0:

• SponsorBlock, built in. Remove sponsor reads, intros, outros and self promotion from your YouTube downloads, using the community run SponsorBlock database. Off by default, you choose exactly which segment types go, and every subscription can have its own setting.
• Record live streams. A LIVE tag with the recording time and size while it records, and Stop and save keeps what was captured. If the stream drops, the recording reconnects on its own (up to 5 times in a row) and joins the pieces into one file.
• Add while downloading. Paste more links while others are loaded or downloading and the new videos join the current run.
• Quit when done now waits for Subscriptions downloads too, with a 30 second countdown and a Cancel button.

Plus: subscription export and import now carry each subscription's own settings, a notice when Universal MP4 can't convert a video to H.264, no more broken images when a thumbnail can't load, and Electron 45 under the hood. On Windows, the first start after updating downloads about 36 MB once, and an interrupted first setup now repairs itself.

500 themes, 10 languages, Windows, macOS and Linux (this image is wearing Wildfire🔥).

Advisory: a certificate authority (eMudhra) had private keys compromised. Browsers already block them. Steps in the image keep EGM Downloader current, no reinstall needed. v1.5 will include it.

@hell6vdz3 @Techjunkie_Aman Fair take, it runs on yt-dlp and the README says so.
Around it we built subscriptions with a live queue, HDR and Dolby Vision per resolution, GPU upscaling, 500 themes, 10 languages and no telemetry. Free, open source, try it if you like: https://t.co/CekA0IWxi9
