The system is working the way it was designed. Stop criminalizing poverty.

This is why I’m done with the lesser of two evils argument. Win or lose, the Dems use every cycle to narrow the distance between themselves and the GOP. It’s happened every election for my entire life.
A reminder that Black people are 7x more likely to be wrongly convicted of murder than white people and since the late 1980s, Black folks make up more than 50 percent of exonerations.
So if I'm following this debate correctly so far, Democrats should vote for the Democrat because she'll fight China and promote fracking and oil drilling and because she's been endorsed by Republicans and because conservatives support how tough on crime she is. That about right?

Thousands of people with old marijuana convictions that are now misdemeanors have been waiting for almost 2 years for a typo to be fixed. 2 years is a long time with a felony hanging over your head.

After months of negotiations with @LegalAidNYC we still have no contract, salaries are flat since 2021, staff are leaving in droves, and workloads are more unconscionable every day.
We will be holding a 5-boro picket on 2/8 at 1pm to demand a contract.

Today @GovKathyHochul had the opportunity to nominate a Chief Judge that prioritizes the needs of vulnerable New Yorkers. Instead she chose one of the most conservative justices on the appellate bench. I hope my colleagues join me in voting NO on Hector Lasalle.

It’s really mind-blowing seeing the @nytimes—one of the chief purveyors of false/misleading “doomsday headlines” about crime in NY & around country—now reporting on the electoral impact of their own harmful journalism practices. And yet mentioning only other papers & “media.”
