@cierzo1@pickledpuffin Probably, I realised that this document did exist although it will probably be replaced with the Settled Status after Brexit (who knows). However it is not compulsory to present it in this instance and EU citizens are not even required to apply for it.
Received today:
Agencies have started asking for "Residence Permit issued by the Home Office to EU Nationals", even though such piece of documentation does not exist as of yet. And we still hold our rights to live and work in the UK #EUnational#Brexit#HousingCrisis#EUmigrants
UPDATE: The agency has got back to me saying that an EU passport is also an acceptable form of ID and blames the confusion on the wording. Case closed. For me anyway...
@jeffe_mr @alexandrabulat This is what I'm hoping to clarify with the agency. I personally find the wording quite confusing, especially as they don't mention any other nationality. It just looks like this is what they expect from EU citizens.
@justthevax @arnhemsmeisje62 Nice to know, and apologies for jumping to conclusions. The point about having to focus on British citizens first in oder to justify discrimination is one that is very often brought up by racists and people who hate EU citizens. And since I don't know who you are...^^
@justthevax@1867ben @arnhemsmeisje62 Where di you get these photos from? The residency permit on the right is obviously a thing but the point you are missing is that EU citizens do not need a residency permit to prove their right to live in the UK.
@1867ben@justthevax @arnhemsmeisje62 I shall see with my agency. But either way, this piece of documentation does not even exist as of today, which shows how clueless they are
@justthevax @arnhemsmeisje62 No, on paper no. This will probably change after March 2019 but as of now, passport is the only proof a landlord needs to see we have the right to live here.
@justthevax @arnhemsmeisje62 As of now, EU citizens do not need any additional permit other than their passport to prove their right to live and work in the UK.
