Džanović leaves Frankfurt on a free, rumored to join Mainz or Hoffenheim now.
Not sure if he was offered a new deal at all or if he rejected it but given that Frankfurt's first team is stacked in attack and their II team is in the 5th tier (which isn't professional), it's logical to move on and try his luck elsewhere. 19 in August.
Hoffenheim could be an interesting pathway for him as he'd at least get minutes in the 3. Liga right away for their reserve team, and work his way up from there.
His numbers this season were spectacular but we shouldn't be too quick to expect Alajbegović 2.0 next season. The jump from youth to senior football is still massive and not everyone is going to hit the ground running the way Kerim did.
But it certainly makes sense for him to at least have more ambition than settling for a 4th/5th tier semi-pro level with the body of work he's produced this term. Will be interesting to follow his next steps now.
That certainly will be his biggest challenge in adapting to senior football, his small frame and physical build.
There is talent there, even his impressive numbers aside. But how he adapts with his limitations and where he chooses to go next to develop will be the biggest question marks for him.
Kerim benefited in many ways from a growth spurt he had around late 2024. Džanović will have to work around that with what he has as he didn't have the same body growth/transformation.

I think Paunović is the right guy and fit for the job and situation at hand.
But he will have to learn fast and adapt, a lot of players this week look far from a serious NT-caliber level. Didn't endear themselves with the chances they had.
If he gets the time he'll come good, but it will be a lot of trial/error and growing pains.
I spent my weekend creating a new free roadmap.
It's designed for recruitment analysts & scouts.
You'll get:
> The full roadmap with 15 specific steps
> Learnings from people who have used it themselves
> Links to the tools and resources I used
> Lessons from my personal mistakes
My goal is to provide people with structured guidance that actually works.
Whether you want to change your career to work in football, or if you want to get new opportunities in the game.
This roadmap helps you develop core skills step-by-step.
No more wondering what to do next.
Here's the link to get it: https://t.co/1cNHsrWlgs
Looked very promising at youth level but has struggled a lot with injuries in recent years, although he still shows signs there's a player in there when he is fit and playing.
Didn't help that FKS have essentially been stacking midfielders as of late with none of the younger players really finding stable playing time.
A new setting wouldn't be bad for him and makes sense that Astana are looking in our league for a potential Bašić replacement (although their profiles/qualities are different) after his success there.
🚨🇧🇦 | Astana Could Strengthen Their Squad with a Bosnia and Herzegovina U21 International!
The capital club is considering the signing of 21-year-old central midfielder Anes Krdžalić, who currently plays for Sarajevo.
The player's contract with the Bosnian club is nearing its expiration, meaning he could join Astana as a free agent.
Krdžalić is a product of Dinamo Zagreb's academy. In the current Bosnia and Herzegovina Premier League season, he has made 18 appearances and scored 3 goals.
Bijeli Brijeg Stadium renovations coming along well, with fans sitting in the new stand (right) that began construction earlier in the season (left) in the final games of the season.
If they can manage to add a few more stands to complete that entire side, it should bring up the capacity to 13-15k which would be a solid number for the Mostar club.

🚨 WWIN Liga 🇧🇦
⚠️ Team of the Week (Matchday 36)
Just 3 players born in the 21st century in the final TOTW of the season. 🇭🇷🇧🇦 Mihael Kuprešak (2001) returns after featuring in MD 33 & 34 and is joined by his teammate 🇲🇰 Agon Elezi (2001) as well as 🇧🇦 Marko Matić (2005) from Široki Brijeg.
Quite a twist of events. Posušje were 8 pts clear of Sloga after MD 31 (32 to 24) and now were caught and go down instead.
Posušje and Rudar relegated, while Radnik and BSK are still in question over whether they'll get a license to be in the league. Čelik will come up, but who the 10th team will be next season may be administratively decided now..
U ponedjeljak i utorak na rasporedu su utakmice posljednjeg 36. kola WWin lige u kome nas očekuju dva velika gradska derbija u Mostaru i Sarajevu, kao i konačan rasplet u borbi za opstanak.
It's been a joy to follow this ride as someone who began watching Guardiola's work at the age of 12 in 2008 and followed him everywhere he's gone as a fan ever since.
In my opinion, the best manager I've witnessed in 20 years of following the game to date. And the individual most responsible for the countless hours I've put into watching this sport over the years and my dream/desire to pursue working in football.
Truly a phenom. Thank you Senyor. ♥️🙏

🚨 WWIN Liga 🇧🇦
⚠️ Team of the Week (Matchday 35)
Only a handful of younger players in this round - namely 🇧🇦🇭🇷 Ivan Puljić (2002), 🇳🇬 Edwin Odinaka (2003), and 🇧🇦 Anes Krdžalić (2004).
One more round to go this season!
Serhii Ihnatkov (Sergej Ignatkov) has extended his contract until the summer of 2029. Comes during a poor run for him, with two errors leading to a goal in his last two starts.
Good to see the club still trusts him and hopefully will continue to improve.
Rudar are gone, 100%.
What's confusing now is what's going on with the rest.
On-field, Radnik secured safety, but they didn't get a license to be in the league next season. Posušje/Sloga are trying to avoid relegation on the final day but both got a license.
Then in the Prva RS league, all of the clubs fighting for promotion may have issues getting a license, namely Leotar, BSK, and Laktaši.
It would be nice if our media did some digging to clear this up or if the FA would come out to explain before the final round this week. Because right now it seems unclear whether we'll get 1, 2, or even 3 teams relegated from the top flight this season.
I didn’t do my research, and in case FK Sloga Doboj wins the next match and HŠK Posušje loses, Sloga will survive because of H2H, not goal difference.
Well, you learn new things every day. My bad.
Good point about Sučić, that makes it 4 of the top 5 leagues covered in terms of recent BiH Premijer Liga success stories (although I'd say he's more of a Bugojno/Zrinjski product, most of his development and pro beginnings were there and not Dinamo).
Just need a Bašić/Lukić/etc to move to the Bundesliga this summer and we've hit them all.
With the improving infrastructure, financial injections from Europe, and (hopefully) continued good NT results, it can only get better in this aspect. Although of course far from perfect and a lot of other issues that still need attention that plague our football.
Fantastic advert for 🇧🇦 domestic football on an international scale. Guliashvili was playing in BiH 6 months ago, Čelik 18 months ago, and Jakirović was managing in the league under 4 years ago, now they're all in 3 of the top 5 leagues in Europe.
As I said before, success breeds trust and producing players/managers that are capable of going to the highest level will only improve the standing of the BiH market abroad. This is just as important as the World Cup qualification to achieving that.
Could also throw in Džeko getting promoted to the Bundesliga but I guess he's advertised us pretty well for 20 years already. 😆
18/05/2026 - Giorgi Guliashvili scores 6 in 17 to help promote Racing Santander to La Liga! 🟢⚪️
22/05/2026 - Nidal Čelik wins Coupe de France after qualifying for the Champions League with Lens! 🔴🟡
23/05/2026 - Sergej Jakirović (+ Amir Hadžiahmetović) wins football’s most lucrative game and takes Hull to the Premier League! 🟠⚫️
What a week for the Bosnian Premijer Liga in Europe. Slowly but surely, our league is producing more and more players and coaches who are making a real mark abroad.
For those of you who followed our league in the 2000s and 2010s, you’ll remember how it was the opposite for the longest time, and you won’t take this for granted.
