1) Dev cycles are now 6-10 years. Scattered release schedule.
2) Consoles will be VERY expensive.
3) Devs will still release games on current hardware.

Final Fantasy 7: 25-30 hours.
Dragon Quest 5: 20 hours
Lufia 2: maybe 25.
I'll take a great story and tight gameplay over bloat any day of the week. Just because you can make a long RPG doesn't mean you should.

I don’t think Sony (and the gaming industry in general) realizes that if they completely get rid of physical media, and abolish the existence of used games and permanent access to the media you buy, people are going to work overtime to make sure piracy is an option.
For everyone that says “you’ll buy a PS6 day 1” . Myself, along with countless others absolutely will NOT buy into a digital rental box. I refuse to spend a single penny on the PlayStation brand without physical media. After PS5, Sony will be dead to me.
