Closed civic space shouldn't mean silenced observers. In Accra I suggested what would work: coalitions, observer protection, fair accreditation and observing the whole cycle. And a warning: beware "fake" observers sponsored to manufacture legitimacy. Credibility is our shield.

It found that 86% of citizens were aware of the upcoming elections, while 13% were not aware and 1% were unsure. However, knowledge of specific electoral procedures, including voter registration, dispute mechanisms and the NEC mandate, remained limited. #EyesOnElections

A study presented at the South Sudan Country Forum examined Citizens’ Perceptions & Engagement, the Legal Framework, and Institutional Preparedness ahead of the December 2026 General Elections.

The Forum also featured opening remarks from Dr. Kennedy Masime, representing E-HORN, and Chris Gitari, Senior Transitional Justice Advisor at the Reconstituted Joint Monitoring and Evaluation Commission (RJMEC).
