75 years of responsible politics. Let’s unite for our honourable existence.
Communities that were not politically united are always left behind in overall development. This is exactly what is happening with the minorities in our country.

#WATCH | After returning from Manipur, IUML MP E.T. Mohammed Basheer, says, "...In brief, what we are saying is - the situation there is really hellish. People are suffering...We will consolidate all our findings and submit them and we will make use of them in the Parliament discussions. Our visit was meaningful and we were able to understand the ground reality. We met the Governor and gave her a detailed memorandum, we appealed that the normalcy should be restored..."
Yesterday, the bodies of two individuals who died were sent back to their hometown after completing the necessary procedures. Both individuals were women. When someone living abroad dies, their immediate family members, including children, are required to accompany the body back to their homeland. During the peak season, the cost of tickets for those who travel with the deceased increases significantly, often exceeding one lakh rupees. This is due to the airlines' monopoly, causing hardship even in the event of a person's death. When our expatriate nationals bring back the bodies of their deceased loved ones for free, the families accompanying the bodies to our country have to spend lakhs of rupees. It is a situation similar to a leech sucking blood.
The government should take measures to provide free tickets or reduce the fare for those who travel with the deceased. The constant financial burden on families that arise due to the substantial mental distress caused by the death of loved ones in such circumstances needs to be addressed. With the upcoming summer, ticket prices are expected to soar even higher, worsening these dire situations. Officials do not pay much attention to these issues that seriously affect expatriates. It is truly regrettable that no one comes forward to address the hardships faced by expatriates in such circumstances.
