1/7 The next leading US metros are ones that create economic connectedness.
Meaning: rich and poor pupils coming together boost economic mobility.
When poor kids live in areas where friendships cut across class lines, it significantly increases how much they earn as adults.
I’m thrilled about the news in my own school district, @KellerISD. But the fact that @PatriotMobile spent $54k on “doorknockers” for Tammy Nakamura in a district of 13k students and they still lost, is icing on the cake! Overall it seems they spent at least $120k on her alone.
Congratulations to my dear friend & Sister Superintendent @drgoffney for continuing to be a trailblazer in education as the 25-26 President-Elect. She is the FIRST African American female to ever lead @AASAHQ as President. Proud you are representing Texas at the National level!!
It’s difficult for a lot of people to understand what it is like to work in the HBCU or under resourced student space. Many of our students come to us broken and traumatized by the early stages of their lives. These aren’t bad people. They are people who were dealt a bad hand. 1
We 🖤 @studentsuccessagency!! Shoutout to @ejcarrion and @everybodymeetchris for hanging out with our students last week for GEAR UP Week! Students, don’t forget to complete your profile on the Winbox App, and check in with your agent! #GEARUPJeffersonCounty#GEARUPWorks
Democracy is meant to be an arena for ideas. When we resort to winning at the expense of voter turnout, we’ve all lost. @MannyRamirez_TX should be commended not vilified for doing his job and protecting our fundamental right to vote and even proposing to ADD locations across Tarrant County while also maintaining the approved voting locations from March. He recognizes that it’s the communication of ideas and policies and ability to bring people together that wins elections not partisan politics. We may run for office under the banner of one party but once elected you take an oath to serve all. Thank you, Manny, for upholding that oath and continuing a career of public service from @fortworthpd and now as our county commissioner.
