On Iran, though, I have to remind myself to keep the noise out and remember that Trump does engage in realpolitik and he is fully aware of Iran’s diabolical intentions. We don’t have all the information, especially as to what he’s thinking or planning. I believe this will be OK.
@Geiger_Capital The #1 attack against Netanyahu domestically right now is that he’s a Trump stooge… so saying that kind of makes it impossible for Netanyahu to oblige
Why am I not upset by Israel’s strikes when Trump said it could ruin negotiations?
Two reasons:
1) Israel isn’t the US and an agreement between us and Iran will never be binding to Israel unless Israel itself is involved
2) The US wouldn’t sit by and refuse to respond if we were hit domestically, so why do we expect any other nation to do so?
It amazes me that people who complain about Israel constant say “it’s an independent country that should take care of itself” always complain when Israel actually does take care of itself.
I’ve supported President Trump for years, and I will always continue to do so because I believe in him. But to be honest, I just don’t get it.
Why’s he so stubborn about making a deal with an Islamic terror regime that wants both Israel and America destroyed?
What am I missing?
Israel was attacked by Iran.
They are unilaterally responding to those strikes.
Not requesting American support.
There is literally nothing to be mad about.
Israel just bombed Iran, in direct defiance of Trump saying not to do it…
They do not want a deal.
Trump was pulled into this war and now he can’t get out. Took over his entire 2nd term.
After much delay, the rebroadcast of For the Republic! Ep. 19 has finally been accomplished!
Please give it a listen and stay tuned for more coming soon!
Forget the details of this dumb Iran deal, bad as it is.
The broader cost here is American deterrence. Dangerous adversaries have seen us blink repeatedly, and that has real consequences globally.
If the will to finish the fight wasn't there, we never should have started it.
I’m not upset at the idea of requesting holding off on retaliation. There are a few situations where that’s reasonable even if you don’t understand it from the outside.
I’m upset at the repeated pattern of excusing Iran the exact same way Biden was two years ago
If your response to Russia invading Ukraine is “it’s Ukraine’s fault! They shouldn’t have provoked Russia!”
And your response to Iran or Hamas attacking Israel is “it’s Israel fault! They’re warmongers!”
Don’t be surprised when people ignore you, think you’re morally misguided, and treat you like an idiot
In the past week, Iran has attacked Kuwait, the UAE, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and now Israel.
The idea that we will keep negotiating with them projects American weakness, not strength.
I really don’t get it.
We saw Trump negotiate in his first term and he was incredibly successful because he put on the pressure to everyone he negotiated against - tariffs on China, credible threats to North Korea, targeted strikes against Iran, etc.
Now, ever since his second term started, he just seems to constantly negotiate against ourselves and in favor of the hostile force we’re trying to stop.
So don’t tell me to “trust the process” when there’s such a fundamentally different approach being used here.
Look, in geopolitics not everything requires a response. I get that.
But this “Iran really wants a deal, guys! I know they keep saying no and firing missiles at us, but they’re serious now!” messaging makes you look like an idiot
So Peace Through Strength now means what? You can bomb anyone you want and we’ll keep them from responding?
If another country bombed the US, would anyone telling Israel not to respond also say the US shouldn’t retaliate?
🚨 WOW! President Trump just said Israel BETTER NOT strike back against Iran, or the peace deal is SCREWED
He tells Axios: "If Bibi strikes them back it’s just gonna keep GOING like the last 47 years, or the last 3000 years!"
"The Iranian strikes [on Israel] didn't hurt ANYBODY. Hopefully ISRAEL is not going to retaliate.
"We are very close to a final deal with Iran. It is going to be a good deal. I don’t want it to blow up because of what is happening now!"
47 is CALLING Netanyahu, saying DON'T STRIKE!
"Each of them had their fun. Israel had its strike and Iran had its strike. We don't need another one." — @BarakRavid
47 told Fox he was DAYS AWAY from a deal, but it now may be in jeopardy.
"You have fired your missiles, come back to the negotiating table."
