La Policía Nacional capturó a Juan Alberto Díaz López, de 34 años, señalado por asesinar y decapitar con un arma blanca a su tío, Ramón Arístides López Núñez, de 67 años, en un suceso que ha conmocionado a toda la comunidad.

El trágico hecho ocurrió en la comunidad de Cuero Duro, municipio de San Víctor, en la provincia Espaillat.

Investigaciones preliminares apuntan a un fuerte conflicto familiar ligado a una disputa por herencia de propiedades, sumado a una supuesta venganza por la muerte en el pasado de otra tía que había criado al agresor.

Officers arrived and encountered

Eastwood st*bbing his mother with a knife inside the home. Officers repeatedly ordered him to drop the weapon, he did not comply. Two officers then fired their service weapons, striking Eastwood. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police recovered several knives from the residence.

The incident began after multiple 911 calls from Eastwood’s mother, who reported that her son was intoxicated, acting violently, and armed with a knife. Police stated that Eastwood briefly moved away from the victim before returning and resuming the attack despite officers’ commands. His mother suffered multiple st*b and sl*sh wounds and was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for emergency treatment. She survived the attack.

Authorities said Southampton Town Police had responded to numerous domestic-related incidents at the residence over approximately the past decade. Police also stated that Eastwood’s mother had previously obtained an order of protection against him, but it was no longer active at the time of the incident.
