Florida deputies just took down a cocaine pipeline that used fake towing trucks to move millions in drugs from Texas to Tampa.

Under “Operation Hall of Fame,” investigators spent a year tracking a network that transported cocaine from El Paso to the Tampa Bay area.

The drugs were hidden high in the sleeper compartments of tractor-trailers, a spot designed to keep police dogs from catching the scent during roadside stops.

Nine people were arrested. Authorities seized 132 pounds of cocaine with an estimated street value of $2.1 million.

A simple towing front. Millions in cocaine. Another reminder of how creative traffickers get when they think no one is watching.
