I’m Endri Llabuti, Conservative Councillor for Purley Oaks and Riddlesdown.

Promoted by Endri Llabuti of 36 Brighton Road, CR8 2LG.
Last Saturday afternoon, Cllr @ELlabuti and I joined the regular litter pick organised by the Riddlesdown Residents Association in the Riddlesdown area around Mitchley Avenue and Mitchley Hill.
It was a smaller group this time, with a few neighbours and a couple of children (and no scouts group this time), but we still managed to fill a dozen or so bags of litter (more were added after my photo!). As always, Tracey from the council was on hand to provide all of the equipment - including some brand new equipment - with pickers, bag holders, gloves and high vis if you wanted it!
I've been volunteering and attending this litter pick for the last five years or so, and tend to follow the same route each time - it does seem like the area is cleaner, as it takes me longer and longer to fill up a single bag! But I'm also surprised each time that I find something new, that has clearly been buried for some time, and only recently been uncovered by the weather or moved up to the surface so I can pick it and bag it!
Sadly, most of the litter we find is clearly being dropped by people - it's meal deal packaging or boxes and wrappers from different snacks. While it's wonderful to have a brilliant Residents Association organise a regular litter pick like this, and so many helpful volunteers, the reality is we shouldn't need to do this if people binned their rubbish.
I've become much bolder and braver at challenging people who I see dropping litter and making a mess of our local area - I know not everyone will feel able to do this, but if you can, I've found most people will pick up what they've just thrown on the ground.
Let's all do our part to take pride in Croydon and keep Croydon clean.
Doctors are on strike today for the 15th time since 2023, costing us £3bn in the last 3 years.
Starmer promised to sort it, even gave them a 28% pay rise...it didn't work.
Time for serious action. The @Conservatives will ban doctors' strikes, like we do for the army and police.
Too many towns and villages have had to accept criminality in their communities because each attempt to deal with illegal traveller sites has fallen foul of the ECHR.
The @Conservatives will take back our streets and green spaces, leave the ECHR, and get Britain working again.
Great to welcome @KemiBadenoch to Purley to meet local shopkeepers and hear first-hand about the challenges they face.
Our zero-tolerance approach to crime is delivering results.
Crime in Croydon is down 4.1%, robberies down 29%, and antisocial behaviour in the town centre down 24% over the past three years.
Lots done. Lots more to do.
Keep Croydon on track.
Brick by Brick bankrupted Croydon.
£200m tied up.
£1.4bn debt.
Three bankruptcy notices.
Now Labour want to “consider” bringing council-run development back.
It’s Brick by Brick 2.0.
Croydon must never go back.

One of the shadiest scandals in British political history. And Labour ministers’ fingerprints are all over it.
It’s time to release the Mandelson files.
Croydon is back on track - let’s keep it going.
Today @CroydonTories are announcing our candidates for the 2026 council elections in May.
Since 2022 we’ve stabilised the finances after Labour’s bankruptcy, tackled crime and antisocial behaviour, cleaned up our streets, protected parks and green spaces, and brought investment back to Croydon.
There’s more to do - but this team will help keep Croydon moving forward and restore pride in every community👇

Croydon Council has worked closely with the Metropolitan Police to support the trial of Live Facial Recognition (LFR) in our town centre to help identify suspects on police watchlists.
The pilot has led to a significant number of arrests, including individuals suspected of serious offences and violence against women and girls, demonstrating that this pioneering technology is helping to make our streets safer.
I look forward to continuing to work with the Met Police to tackle crime, as part of our zero-tolerance approach to broken windows, restoring pride in our borough and making Croydon a safer place for all our residents.

Kids shouldn’t be glued to screens for hours at a time.
Our plan to raise the age of consent for social media to 16 will help children reach their full potential.
I’m not allowed to say it in Parliament, but I can here: today the Prime Minister lied and lied and lied again. And he did so to smear a man defending our veterans in court against the Labour government.
Labour have attacked everyone from farmers, to businesses, to veterans, so now they attack David Wolfson, a brilliant KC, to take the attention away from their terrible decisions.
I’m proud to have David in my team. He doesn’t deserve to have his name smeared by low-rent politicians trying to distract from their own failures.
What little integrity the Prime Minister held he surrendered with that shameful performance today.
The true cost of Rachel Reeves’ benefits budget will shock you.
Labour are taking from hardworking people, and using it to pay people on welfare more.
This has to stop. We have to Get Britain Working Again.
These evil crimes were deliberately covered up by those in authority who were more interested in so-called community relations and in avoiding being called racist than they were in protecting young children
That was an abject moral failure
It should not have taken several months and the threat of vote in Parliament for the Govt to agree to a national statutory inquiry in the first place. And it should not have taken another six months to appoint a chair
For many survivors, the truth has been hidden for far too long
The truth, at last, must come out
We’ve secured £495,000 from the Home Office to make Croydon safer. New CCTV, Safer Croydon Pods, and targeted action in hotspot areas will build on the progress we’re already making - with knife crime down 19.5% and robbery down 16%.
My message is simple: zero tolerance for crime, and a safer Croydon for everyone. #RestoringPride #Croydon
Another big milestone for Purley Pool.
The scheme is now with the GLA for its Stage 2 review - the next step towards delivering a brand new leisure centre in the heart of Purley.
We’re getting this done, just as promised.
