Hello @JonathanCOnP
I am a student at Wilfrid Laurier University doing a project on mental illness and overcoming the stigma around it. I wanted to hear your expert opinion on teaching mental health in elementary schools and its potential consequences. What are your thoughts?
This picture represents the most powerful solution to the problem that I have identified- educating yourself and others. Getting the conversation going, especially through embedding it into education at a young age is the best way to end the stigmatization around the topic.
Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) does a great job highlighting the impact of the negative stereotypes that surround mental illness, and the discrimination that results from this stigma. Check out more info on this issue on their website:

The stigmatization of mental health is a prominent issue in our community. Understanding how it creates challenges and impacts the everyday lives of those around us is the first step to ending the stigma. #MentalHealthAwareness#EM203Robin#EM203Problem

@EM203LMerrimen Hey Luke! I agree that the material we have learned is super useful in this time of unprecedented change. It has definitely led us to think deeper about the pre-pandemic traditional education methods and their usefulness in today's digital age.
@Em203Mallik Hey Kingshook, I like that you incorporated the education industry in your perspective. I definitely think that this is one of the most heavily impacted industries by the pandemic. We will surely be continuing to use some of these digital learning methods post-pandemic.
@em203slam Hey Serena, it is very interesting that you brought up the correlation between the content and the style of learning. Different skills and material call for different techniques that work for us, which is why learning about learning can be so helpful!
@julia_EM203 Hey Julia, I agree that understanding this material allows us to apply it in positive ways such as combining learning techniques and multitasking, which ultimately improves our productivity, especially in online learning. Great point!
@EM203SShah Social media is definitely a huge part of our lives and it will be interesting to see the significance of the role it plays in the lives of future generations. Courses like EM203 help put into perspective the impact of digital learning not only today but in the years to come!
Being in the midst of a pandemic is a better time than ever to take a course on Digital Learning! Discussing concepts like digital literacy, 21st century learning skills, teaching styles, and multitasking is both useful and super interesting. #learningaboutlearning#EM203Robin
