Canada needs to update and modernize CEPA as well as increase climate financing to improve domestic environmental oversight initatives to better address climate change and global warming. @SarahLynnBurch, what are your thoughts?
The future looks grim with global warming. We are approaching an increase in global average temperature of 1.5C dangerously fast. Greater importance must be placed on addressing environmental oversight in Canada to better address the climate change problem #EM203Problem
@SarahLynnBurch, with your expert knowledge of responses to climate change at the community scale and strategies for making progress on sustainability, I am curious about your suggestions for ways for University communities to address climate change.
Here are the big takeaways from the @IPCC_CH Synthesis Report released today.
First, climate change has already caused widespread and substantial losses to almost every aspect of human life on this planet, and the impacts on future generations depend on the choices we make NOW.
Even though I'm a student at Wilfrid Laurier, as a Waterloo native, it's amazing to see @SarahLynnBurch, a professor at the University of Waterloo and Executive Director of the Waterloo Climate Institute, as a contributor to the IPCC Sixth Assessment Report.

This source allowed me to obtain research on the topic of global warming and the causes. This source easily listed out the causes as well as directly explaining how each impact the environment. This source is also trustworthy by the UN. #EM203Research

@Em203ASilva Hey Abigail, I really liked your concept map! I like how it really explores each of the branches in depth. Another branch you could have added is addressing the vulnerable populations, both within our society and at a global level #em203problems
@EM203Abodalia I love the simplicity of your concept map. It gets straight to the point and covers some of the major branches of health. Another branch you could consider is intellectual health, though it may fall under your branch for mental health... #em203problems
@EM203MBrown It's nice to see someone else doing an environmental issues concept map. Something you could have included was ground polution such as the effects of harmful chemicals and pesticides on the environment #em203problems
@EM203atse Hi Andrew, that is super impressive that you were able to knit that with chopsticks and I'm glad you included a picture for us to see, well done!
@EM203sshanks Thank you! I didn't actually knit them with chopsticks! I tried learning with them at first but couldn't get the proper tension so I eventually bought needles to knit these examples.
#EM203Robin has been an enjoyable first 3 weeks with lots of fun learning activities. I really enjoyed the challenge of learning a new skill this week - knitting! Here is an example of purl and knit stitch!
Ps: knitting is easier with proper needles than chopsticks.
@EM203jboulanger Haha, I get how you feel. Even as someone who actually had Twitter but never actually tweeted, everything here seems foreign like learning a new platform.
