Hi @jkwan_md, I am a university student researching the effects of a sedentary lifestyle in children, and I was wondering if you could give any tips on how children can stay active while in online school + lockdown? Hope to hear from you! #EM203Robin
One of the most valuable things I've learned this past year is that there are other ways to get extremely valuable education. Taking FREE online courses puts you so much further ahead than you would ever expect. Learning new skills always ftw! #EM203Robin
Canada has now paused the use of the AstraZeneca vaccine for adults under age 55. How do they expect people over 55 to feel safe taking this vaccine with all this controversy? Another disappointing setback that slows us down from returning to normalcy. #EM203Robin
Great apes at the @sandiegozoo are the first non-humans to receive a COVID-19 vaccine. The news comes after eight gorillas at the zoo tested positive for COVID-19 in January.

Laughter, singing, dancing, the casual hug or stroke of an arm — all of these things trigger endorphins. Endorphins are chemically similar to morphine and have similar effects. They lighten our mood and make us feel good

Children b/w the ages of 8 and 18 average 7.5 hours of screen time per day!🤯This article highlights the effects of excessive screen time. Check it out! https://t.co/MbtueVUJYu #EM203Research
Coming into EM203 I had no idea really what I was signing up for. This year I have become obsessed with how education can be modernized. The activities over the past few weeks have opened my eyes to new methods. I can't wait to learn more! #EM203Robin
@EM203_Britt Hi Brittany! I agree this course has been great so far, and I definitely think that due to the pandemic learning has changed forever, and that virtual learning/doing things virtually will still continue in some way.
@Em203ABurdett Hi Alison, I have also been trying to modify my learning and study techniques during the first few weeks of this course. One thing that has helped me the most is limiting multi-tasking, focusing on one task at a time when studying, and it really helps reduce stress.
@DimiSteven Hi Steven! The shift to a virtual atmosphere has affected people of all ages, especially students. It’s crucial that we adapt to a digital environment as we truly don’t know what the “new normal” in the upcoming years will be like & if virtual learning will become more dominant.
@EM203_Helya That’s awesome to hear! I too used to believe that multitasking was beneficial to my learning however now looking back I realized that it made me more stressed as I was trying to complete multiple tasks at the same time. Focusing on one task at a time is a lot more effective!
@EM203avance Hi Avery! I agree that learning through multi-media optimizes students learning as it allows for students with different learning styles/preferences to be able to learn together and more effectively, & through different media sources presented together helps enhance memory.
I have learned a lot so far! One in particular being the cognitivism theory, where I learned the emphasis teaching learners HOW to learn, and ways to develop stronger mental processes to optimize learning 📚#EM203Robin
