University students are facing a mental health crisis that campuses do not have the resources to handle. Early intervention and accessible counselling could change that. Would love to hear your thoughts. @NAMICommunicate#EM203Robin#EM203Research
Mental health support for university students is underfunded and hard to access. 57% report depressive symptoms yet only 36% get help. What do you think universities can do better? @Active_Minds#EM203Robin#EM203Research
Mental health support for university students is underfunded and hard to access. This needs to change. https://t.co/BxLYo8FdWx #EM203Robin#EM203Research
This is exactly why mental health support for university students cannot be an afterthought. When students are struggling and not getting help the consequences go beyond campus. It affects their entire future. #EM203Robin#EM203Research
Nearly 1 in 4 Ontario students enroll in postsecondary education but do not complete a credential. Many student groups, including those with mental health accessibility needs, face barriers throughout their educational journeys and transitions into the labour market.
Mental health among university students is a growing concern. According to the Healthy Minds Study, 57% of students reported depressive symptoms in 2023-24 while only 36% accessed help. More needs to be done. https://t.co/BxLYo8FdWx #EM203Robin#EM203Research
Mental health among university students is something I think about a lot. Burnout, anxiety, and isolation are real and the systems meant to support students often fall short. @Em203_Bartosz#EM203problems
University students are struggling with mental health more than ever and most campuses are not equipped to handle it. The gap between the problem and the support available is too wide. @TannerC203#EM203problems
Mental health among university students is a growing crisis that does not get enough attention. Academic pressure, financial stress, and isolation are pushing students to their limits. What can we do better? @EM203TRizzi#EM203problems
@TannerC203 That is what stood out to me too Tanner. There is a big difference between learning something and actually being able to apply it. This course does a good job of pushing you towards it!
@Em203_Bartosz The multitasking experiment was eye opening for me as well. I went in thinking the results would be close but the difference was more significant than I expected.
@EM203NRussell Well said Nina. The accessibility is incredible but knowing how to filter and critically evaluate what you are taking in is just as important as having access to it in the first place.
@EM203TRizzi Totally agree Tyler, the multitasking experiment was a good reminder that focus is not something you can just multitask your way around. Multimedia is great but only when you are fully engaged with it.
@EM203MLannutti Agreed, the interactive elements gave the content a lot more context and made it easier to connect the concepts to real situations rather than just absorbing theory
Just finished the first 3 lessons of EM203 and already looking at learning completely differently. From learning theories to multimedia to finding out multitasking actually hurts your focus more than you think. Interesting stuff so far and can’t wait to learn more! #EM203Robin
