To help counteract the negative effects of sedentary behaviour in children, parents should plan activities that get the whole family moving outside or engaging in community events. Continue to encourage your child to maintain an active lifestyle & promote this over the lifespan!

Adrienne thought she was in the best place in life ever, health-wise. She took care of herself & that included mammograms. An appt. in May was clear, but a self exam in October found a lump. It happened that quickly. Here her story here https://t.co/gfnu5FaRkB #MBvsCancer
An interesting article on how the activity level of parents and their relationship with their children influences the child's level of physical activity - with a special note on the increased use of electronics impacting activity levels #EM203Research

@EM203alexfrankk I think addressing the issue of children's health is essential in today's society! One major problem is the lack of education among parents in regards to proper health for their kids, resulting in the obesity epidemic among children #EM203Problems
@EM203JakobG Hi Jakob! Great work on your concept map! A problem I see related to the lack of work experience for undergrad students is the barriers presented to many individuals in minority groups, which contribute to low hiring rates among these individuals #EM203Problems
@balkaranEM203 This is definitely a unique way of learning that is new to most people but I think it offers a great opportunity to test learning in a digital world. I think classes such as EM203 are essential in applying Tony Bate's ideas from week 2!
@em203emmasnod What was your favourite learning theory discussed? How we retain information and factors that inhibit that process - like multi-tasking - are so essential to understand in the learning context!
@EM203nbuldan Yes I did! Barbara's blog discussed the organization - Steelcase - who designs furniture for classrooms that promotes interactive and collaborative work. This provides an opportunity to form connections with peers and engage in learning tasks such as group work and presentations!
So far in EM203 I've learned about the different ways in which people learn. Connectivism is one of the many different theories of learning which argues how new knowledge is acquired from the shared connections in a network #EM203Robin
@EM203Methner It was fun to learn about the learning theories focusing on the different ways people can learn. I focused on Connectivism, which discusses the importance of forming networks to combine information and deepen our understanding about a topic!
@JudyChiu4 Multi-tasking truly impacts the way we learn as it has been shown to lead to decrements in the performance of at least one task. This fact alone is important to understand when in the learning environment so we can enhance the learning experience!
