Thank you, this is a very insightful post. How effectively is Canada implementing free, prior, and informed consent in recent times? Can you think of examples where it was upheld or ignored?
The Woodland Cree, like all Indigenous Nations in Canada hold rights that are enshrined in Section 35 of the Canadian Constitution, guided by the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples and informed by the Report of the Royal Commission on Aboriginal Peoples (RCAP) and the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC)’s Calls to Action.
As informed by the UN Declaration, Indigenous peoples have a unique connection to and constitutionally protected interest in their lands, including decision-making, governance, jurisdiction, legal traditions, and fiscal relations associated with those lands.
The Government of Canada recognizes that meaningful engagement with Indigenous peoples aims to secure their free, prior, and informed consent when Canada proposes to take actions which impact them and their rights, including their lands, territories and resources.
The renewed fiscal relationship will also enable Indigenous peoples to have fair and ongoing access to their lands, territories, and resources to support their traditional economies and to share in the wealth generated from those lands and resources as part of the broader Canadian economy.

First Nations Chiefs air their grievance to Trudeau and in response...
....Trudeau says he'll do everything he can to address the "built-in colonialism", & "racism" that continues to exist (against the Indigenous people presumably).

Problem: "Canada isn't obligated to provide First Nations with clean water" (Linked)
Solution: Picture attached in the news article. Provide them with clean water...

So far i have enjoyed Em 203! We've explored how digital communication has changed over time and looked at how online platforms affect learning. It's amazing to see how technology has a huge impact on education and sharing knowledge.#EM203Robin
Learning about Constructivism is really interesting, who knew social interaction could have so much to do with gaining knowledge.
An experiment we conducted for class was active recall while listening to music vs. without music. There is such a big difference!

@EM203Fsaunders It definitely did!!! I've actually been studying a lot more without music because I've been realizing how less effective it makes knowledge retainment!
@EM203HBooth Hey!! To be honest, collaboration and interacting is one of my main methods for studying already so it simply solidified my understanding of it. Collaboration is definitely super effective for my learning!
