Tune into this very interesting statistic and heat-map that I found! The stat outlines that 6 areas in the city listed below have less than 96% rates of home internet access #education#toronto#technology
Interesting statistic on the access divide in Toronto: In a survey conducted of a sample Toronto residents, 49% of individuals do not have home internet due to its cost
@Sflecce would you say that the education system was equipped for an online transition during the pandemic? How has digitalization and COVID changed the face of education. I would love to hear your perspective!
@Sflecce I am looking to take your perspective on how the pandemic has increased the digital divide. The way kids are taught has changed and with that comes a plateau of benefits but we can’t ignore the downfalls, what’s your take on this?
@EM203ASubotic A problem you can add into your concept map that builds off technology and accessibility is how COVID-19 has increased the digital divide (this is actually what I have made my concept map about). It’s so interesting to see our problems overlap! #em203problems
@EM203_Billing
The divide and segregation of social classes is a serious issue. It can lead to worsened income inequality and worse health outcomes.#EM203problems
A problem you could add is the digital divide we have seen in classrooms, and how it can effect different learning strategies. @EM203_Billing#em203problems
@EM203SHarburn Hey Simon! This course really opened my eyes on how its not beneficial to multi-task. All this time, I’ve been thinking I can watch tv while working but clearly this is doing more harm than good. Thanks for sharing 😊
@EM203KevinAbey Hey Kevin, thanks for sharing your experience! I agree with you, having a network really enables one to grow through the learnings of others. Also, being able to understand more about the learning theory of collectivism has been so insightful!
@em203ggepilano Hey, agree with you! I too chose to learn the Sudoku puzzle, and having never done one before, it was really interesting breaking down my learning experience, oh and not to mention I can now brag that I can do hard level Sudoku 😊
@EM203JackS Hey Jack, I have really enjoyed this course as well! I think its so fascinating on how different learning theories each explore unique concepts. I would love to hear more on what you find most interesting about learning in a digital age sometime!
@em203kpowell I definitely agree, the concepts in this course have been very insightful and interesting, especially being able to learn about different learning theories. I think the fact that technology has such an impact on our learning is fascinating!
In past three weeks of #Em203robin I have been able to learn the significance of cognitivism and how it can make learning more effective in one’s everyday life! This can be in terms of problem-solving, increasing memory, or retaining information faster.
