@CK12Foundation In the #EM203 course at Wilfrid Laurier University I identified the issue of re-opening of grade schools in the USA, and would like an opinion from an expert.
Do you believe opening schools for students to attend is a plausible scenario in the coming school-year?
Ontario is still reporting new cases of COVID-19 https://t.co/p5TRZdJVQA
Solution: follow social distancing guidelines to reduce the spread of COVID-19
Solution? One can easily reduce their addiction to social media and their phones in general to live a fuller and a better life. https://t.co/TXrN2ZVpws
Solution: Students need to brace and better prepare themselves for online learning, reopening may not be possible at the time due to the upward trend of COVID-19 across the United States. Some students may find this info graphic useful for e-learning.
Problem: The United States is looking to reopen whole school districts due to "terrible" student results and threatening to cut funding of districts refusing to open during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Reopening can have catastrophic results.

Digital technology has drastically changed the way people learn; while we benefit from easy access to quality academic resources, we are also burdened with overstimulation- possibilities for multitasking online are endless and damaging! #EM203Robin
@EM203Kashif Learning using multi media it incorporates multiple learning theories. This can be useful when teaching in a classroom setting where you may have learners that learn in different ways, exposing them to text, visualizations and audio. It's very interesting.
@EM203hamdan I agree Hamdan. Learning by doing has worked out for me as well, as I believe I learn a lot better when I am exposed to the situation. Learning how to do something by doing research and actually accomplishing that task can be super satisfying which in turn can be rewarding.
@em203_manavd Hey Manav. I agree that the internet helps a lot with spreading information and knowledge. A great example is using wikipedia to research topics you may not know about.
@EM203RyanP Yes, I also believe EM203 has been helpful in introducing new ideas, like for me it was the 'learning by doing' for example doing internships. After researching further I learnt more about cognitive learning theory and how learners focus more on connections.
@EM203CengizS I agree that this course encourages well versed discussions between classmates. I have found it helpful in understanding how my fellow peers think about topics from a different perspective and reading their responses in the discussion posts
These past 3 weeks in EM203 I have learnt a lot about how people learn and how to teach people, in particular researching about how students "learn by doing" and why it's a very important aspect when it comes to even certain university-related programs. #EM203Robin
