Three weeks into EM203 and have learned so much about the digital age. Last week I learned about the theory of connectives and its real-world applications. This novel form of learning has opened my eyes to all the new opportunities present in today’s classrooms! #EM203Robin
Hi @kjacksonatwlu! I’m a 3rd-year student conducting research on financial stress and its impact on educational success. As a professor, what is your advice on personal finance and budgeting for students planning to attend post-secondary education?
@RobinPersadWL as an individual that has completed their education, and is now a professor, how did you prepare yourself for the financial stress associated with post-secondary education? Any tips for students currently balancing school and paying off tuition/student loans?
As of 2017, Canadian tuition fees had increased by 3.1%, "perpetuating a cycle of poverty to prevent the most marginalized in our communities from accessing education that should be a right." https://t.co/8g9H9NhtOj
The new curriculum is said to "focus on job and life skills for students". With real-life applications and subjects such as financial literacy and coding, I wonder how students' views on post-secondary education will change.

Hey @EM203NGreenberg, your concept map looks great, your topic is really interesting! Moving forward you could add details about each point you mentioned, adding information on how each country is affecting the garbage patch, and what wastes they are producing. #EM203problems
@EM203LZillman your concept map looks great, and I appreciate the detail you added about each topic. Maybe something to add would be ways people can help prevent this problem from growing. Maybe something we can change in our daily routines? #EM203problems
@Em203Rachel your concept map looks great! I love the topic you chose. I had teachers who were not familiar with helping students whose first language is not English. Have you considered teachers receiving additional training in this area, to prevent this issue? #EM203problems
@EM203mscott Hey Morgan! I found the learning theories interesting as learning is something philosophers have been questioning for centuries, but it seems that there is still so much more to discover. Now with the progressing use of technology I can't wait to see what new theories arise!
@Em203jsdhillon Hey Jagdeep! I agree, getting to engage with peers through discussion posts, and Twitter has been exciting. Through these methods of communication, we are able to learn how others perceive the key aspects of the course, and also helps strengthen our own understandings!
@EM203NWithers Hey Nicole! I also enjoyed learning about the different ways we can use technology to learn in today's classrooms. Being able to question your learning is also great as it helps you apply your understanding to the real world. Can't wait to read more of your posts :)
@EM203Ggoldberg I agree, technology has changed learning in many ways! Using Twitter to engage with peers, and not only using it to socialize, is a novel idea. Thus far this new form of learning has definitely been exciting!
@em203_victoria Hey Victoria, I too thought this was interesting. Learning about how different stimuli can affect your performance on a task was intriguing!
