On Friday, I begin my 2.5 year journey into Paramedic Apprenticeship with my trust. Excited, overwhelmed and ready. Progress is difficult & rarely easy.
Let’s take the leap eh?
It’s important to understand changes in our feelings and of those around us. Loneliness.
It’s a part of life. Let’s talk about it.

Had the pleasure of teaching #CPR & #AED use yesterday for teachers and parents at @OfficialNUSA. I’m back tonight to do the same also 👌 working on behalf of @EMAS_CFR@EMASNHSTrust
@StephJonesBerry @NurseStandard@rcni While not a nurse I do work in the ambulance service as a Technician. I’ve got hands, neck, full arms tattooed and flesh plugs in my ears. The policy at the trust is uniform based and has never discriminated against me for how I am.
I had the opportunity yesterday to re-assure the general public that we’re fighting for their care, our working conditions and to save our #NHS please remember all parts of the NHS are in crisis delays are everywhere. We’re trying our best. #NHSCrisis#ambulancestrike#CRISIS
FACT: A 999 call handler will ALWAYS ask for you to repeat the address.
This is often where the abuse starts as the caller believes we haven’t listened.
This is not True ❌
In a panic the address is often given incorrectly so #DontChooseToAbuse#HelpUsHelpYou
After a decade of real-terms pay cuts, paramedics are at breaking point.
Exhausted and underpaid, patient safety is plummeting- whilst NHS workers struggle to put food on the table.
That's why they are on strike. For their family and for yours.
RT if you're behind them 🚑
I'm an NHS nurse and today for the first time in my career I'm on strike
I'm striking for fair pay.
I'm striking to protect my patients.
I'm striking to save the NHS.
Please fight with us for our NHS. #FairPayforNursing#NursesStrike
Tomorrow many nurses will be on strike for the first time in their lives
We've been left with no other choice
If you will be supporting striking NHS workers please reply with a 💙

Ambulance Strike:
@BBCBreakfast
"Are you saying if people dial '999' they might not get an ambulance?"
Gary Smith (GMB)..
"We are saying they probably won't get one now, and we're not on strike today"
#NHS
Wonder if @russellhoward will do a feature on the #nhs and #NHSStrike in his happening this week part of the Russel Howard Hour! In particular Ambulance Staff #Ambulance
A vulnerable elderly man with Alzheimer’s who walked six miles from his home has been reunited with his family thanks to the power of social media and the quick-thinking actions of our ambulance crews.

@londonpararich @LeeMcLaren11 Completely agree! That being said, removing ingrained behaviour and attitudes from long serving staff of 20+ years isn’t going to realistically happen. So what’s the alternative, I guess?
