The EMHS UAS Team recently flew LiDAR mapping missions on Amelia Island for Nassau County Emergency Management.The highly detailed digital data that was captured will help Nassau County government better understand the impacts of hurricane Milton on their coastline.

FL-UAS1 achieved 2 major milestones during Milton response. First, we coordinated one of the largest deployments of UAS crews in the history of Florida. Second, FSU EMHS conducted the first post-disaster LiDAR recon missions for Lee County EM on Old Hickory Island and Sanibel.

Last weekend EMHS faculty, staff, and students spent a very rainy day supporting FSU EM and Police during the home football game. Our efforts helped achieve comprehensive situational awareness, which ultimately contributes to a safer environment for all in attendance. Go Noles!
