Me: How can I help you today?
Pt: Please I want to do a scan, I have having pains in my lower abdomen.

Me: (Puts probe and immediately sees the head of a 21 weeks old fetus)
Madam congratulations, your pregnancy is 5 months and healthy. Take your scan result.
Pt:
This is not true. Buhari was incompetent and Clueless but this video is from the ancient colonial railway.
The Maradi railway construction is ongoing and up to standard. I just passed one of the bridges undergoing construction 2 days ago.
You have a right to be foolish, I wouldn’t judge you for that. I have been foolish long enough to learn not to condemn the fool. But you have no right to be evil, and to support a continuation of Nigeria in its current form, is to be complicit in the evil that it is..
Practising medicine in the tropics can be frustrating.
The resource limitations.
The long hours.
The constant improvisation.
But every now and then, you find pockets of joy that make it all worthwhile.
Many years ago, on a rainy evening in Akure, a 4-day-old baby was brought into our SCBU with severe neonatal jaundice.
He had been delivered elsewhere and referred to us.
By the time he arrived, the jaundice had already reached his abdomen.
This wasn't a "start phototherapy and watch" situation.
This was an all-hands-on-deck situation.
We were short-staffed.
It was mostly the consultant, the senior medical officer, the matron, and me.
As the junior doctor, I was naturally the legs of the team.
Blood work.
Monitoring.
Counselling.
Reassurance.
We sent blood for grouping and crossmatch before the bilirubin result even came back because clinically, this baby was already telling us that things were about to go south.
Then, the result came back.
21.3 mg/dL.
I remember being genuinely afraid when he started convulsing. We aborted and did an exchange blood transfusion.
I sat with his mother and explained the possible consequences of severe neonatal jaundice.
Brain injury.
Hearing loss.
Developmental delay.
Or worse.
But we moved fast.
And the baby fought with us.
Over the years, his mother would occasionally send updates.
Milestones.
Little victories.
Then I left Facebook, and we lost touch for about 5 years.
Last week, I made a post and saw this comment...
"My baby is doing well, and he sends his love."
She remembered. After all these years.
Some days in medicine, the losses are so loud you forget that some children actually grow up.
Some babies actually make it.
And sometimes, many years later, a mother finds you again just to say: he's still here. 🤍
Some mothers don't remember.
Some remember but never reach out they just carry it quietly in their hearts.
Some never fail to remind you how grateful they are.
Baby A's mum is one of them, and she wouldn't know how much I really needed to read from her that day.
Extraordinary study in JAMA IM confirms what many of us have warned against: "pay-for-performance" incentives in medicine reward "teaching to the test" with potentially harmful results
In this quasi-experimental study, incentivizing doctors to control blood pressure (BP)...

I emerged as the winner of the Amuwo Odofin Constituency 1 primaries despite the odds of thuggerism and hooliganism by the incumbent, yet I had a concluded total numbers of vote as 1,239 votes.

NSAIDs are among the most commonly prescribed drugs in medicine.
But choosing the “right” NSAID is not simple.
One may be safer for the stomach.
Another may be safer for the heart.
Another may worsen BP or kidneys.
And the same pill that relieves pain in one patient can cause GI bleed, AKI, or MI in another.
Here’s a practical evidence based guide every doctor should know🧵
On Tuesday, we commissioned and handed over 35 Dignity Homes to 35 indigent widows, most of whom had been living in penury, across all 17 LGAs of Abia State, in celebration of my husband’s 3rd year in office. The home in Umuhute, Ahiake Ndume, Umuahia, served as the commissioning point for the entire project, which was driven by my office.
I sincerely thank His Excellency, Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, for his support and commitment to people-centred governance; Special Adviser to the Governor on Policies and Interventions, Dr. Christian Uche Anokwuru, for his coordination; the Ministry of Women Affairs, led by Dr. (Mrs) Maureen Aghukwa; our local contractors; and everyone who made this possible.
For a widow, a home means stability, dignity, and restored hope. Alongside the houses, I provided cash and food support for their immediate upkeep, while sustainable livelihood plans will also be rolled out for them.
Under my husband’s leadership, Abia will continue to expand interventions for the vulnerable. All glory to God for making this possible.
No medical practitioners enjoy history taking like psychiatrists.
Imagine a very dark guy from Benue telling you with all honesty that he's the last child of King Charles and has a claim to the throne. All these with an accent he’s forming.
Or the one trying to convince you about his multimillion dollar glass house in the atlantic ocean that he somehow made Elon Musk the site manager.

We are making education more rewarding and exciting.
Within 10 years, we will be the greatest workforce in Africa.
Today makes it 81 days.
We have over 300 women and children from Ngoshe community in kidnappers den deep inside the Sambisa forest. About 416 of them were kidnapped by heartless Islamic terrorists on the 3rd of March 2026 in Ngoshe, Gwoza LGA, in Borno State.
Some of these kids are between the ages of 3 to 6 months old. They are basically still breastfeeding. They have been exposed to starvation, cold and mosquito bites for the past 81 days in the wilderness.
Today makes it 9 days.
We have about 50 school children kidnapped by Boko Haram terrorists on the 15th of may 2026, in Mussa Primary and Junior Secondary School in Askira-Uba LGA, in Borno State. Children as young as 2 to 6 years old.
These kids were putting on only their school uniforms when they were kidnapped. They are starving, sick, exposed to cold and mosquito bites deep inside the jungle of Sambisa forest.
Today makes it 9 days.
We have 39 school kids and 6 teachers kidnapped by terrorists on the 15th of may 2026 from various schools in Oriire LGA, in Oyo state.
Children as young as 2, 3, and 4 years old. They were putting on only their school uniforms on the day they were abducted. They are starving, sick, exposed to cold and mosquito bites in the forest.
Unfortunately, the Oyo state school kidnap happened simultaneously with that of Borno State on the 15th of may 2026, targeting schools and school children.
President Tinubu and his soulless APC party are busy playing politics and robbing it on the faces of Nigerians with a middle finger, while infants as young as 3 and 6 months old are suffering in the forest.
The only crime these kids committed, is to be born in Nigeria. A country filled with wicked and heartless leaders.
An old pastor lay dying. He sent a message for Joe Biden and Barack Obama to come to the hospital. When they arrived, they were ushered up to his room.
As they entered the room, the pastor held out his hands and motioned for them to sit on each side of the bed. The pastor grasped their hands, sighed contentedly, smiled, and stared at the ceiling.
For a time, no one said anything. Both Biden and Obama were touched and flattered that the old man would ask them to be with him during his final moments.
They were also puzzled because the pastor had never given any indication that he particularly liked either one of them. Finally, Obama asked, “Pastor, why did you ask the two of us to come here?”
The old pastor mustered all his strength, and then said weakly, “Jesus died between two thieves… and that’s how I’d like to go.”
This afternoon, I spoke extensively with the Vice Chancellor of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (Prof. Kate Omenugha).
Firstly, i asked her why she was charging students compulsory N15,000 which she clearly explained that it's ICT fee. She also explained how the money is being spent.
I also raised the issue of absence of electricity in the university for more than 15 years. She clarified that it is the entire Uli town that is facing that challenge and not peculiar to the university. I recommended they invest in building a solar farm to power the university and it's environs as the government of IMO and Anambra state sorts out the power conflicts.
We discussed further on the issue of sorting, sex for grades, victimizations, extortions etc which she said that she has been tackling since she assumed office. She also pointed out some ongoing cases she is handling and staff being fired.
We agreed that I will share reports i get from students to her and she will prioritize it, investigate and take immediate actions.
We also discussed about her letting students see their scripts after exams to reduce missing scripts claims and extortions, which she agreed she will start immediately but gradually.
Finally, i recommended she revalidate the certificates of all her lecturers and staff to fish out those with fake certificates as currently being done at Abia State University.
She agreed to setup a committee and start that immediately.
I will encourage every student in that university to submit any cases or issues of fraud, extortions, sorting, sex for grades, intimidations, victimizations etc here https://t.co/oTbEuYeDq4 so we can get it to the Vice Chancellor and get it resolved as quickly as possible. Your details will be fully protected.
Restoring full integrity in our universities is not option and it's urgent we do it now.
We are all in the same journey of building the greatest workforce in Africa within 10 years.

Nigeria’s corruption problem is not first a political problem. It is a formation problem.
It is the normalization of fraud inside our schools.
A child enters secondary school and sees WAEC malpractice.
Gets into university and sees sorting, handouts, intimidation and sex-for-grades.
Graduates into society already trained to believe that success comes from manipulation, not competence.
Then we act shocked when corruption destroys the country.
The politician stealing billions today was once a student who learned that cheating works.
A nation cannot become first world using a fraudulent education system to manufacture its human capital.
This is why exam malpractice is not “normal Nigerian behavior.”
It is a national security threat.
Until Nigerian certificates represent real knowledge, discipline and integrity, we will keep producing graduates who cannot build globally competitive companies, institutions or governments.
The classroom is where nations are manufactured.
If we truly want to fix Nigeria, we must first fix the integrity of our education system.
We have made a lot of daft people popular in Nigeria and they became the standard of how the world view us Nigerians.
That has to really change.
We have the most brilliant and sane set of individuals in Nigeria and that is who we must showcase to the world.
