I’ve gone from intrigued➡️amazed➡️worried about the total absence of non-Covid gen medicine in the last 2 weeks. Where are the bread and butter cases of acute med? The NSTEMIs, IBD flares, decomp’d CCF, overdoses, sepsis, PEs...

Glad I’m not the only one noticing these patients are profoundly hypoxic on spO2 but don’t seem to be in distress. We getting more comfortable with O2 sats that would have been unthinkable without intubation a few weeks ago. #COVID19

Covid lung disease: we are all noting hypoxia out of proportion to dyspnea. In our COVID-ICU, patients do well over time with shockingly low SpO2.

This is anecdote. We hope to web-publish our data very soon. Consider withholding ETI in hypoxic patients who are otherwise OK.

Change into clean scrubs @ the hospital. Minimize the COVID in my car. No long sleeves under my scrubs or sweatshirt. Just putting up with being cold.
