Two of our PhDs were able to present their research on #labour markets @_ESCAS conference 2019 in Exeter! Congrats to our PhDs @Loiq_Mirov & @EMandieva. We are grateful to the organizers of this conference @CentralAsiaNet and @HeathershawJ for offering a space for young scholars!
The social and economic consequences of youth unemployment include poverty, youth radicalization, and loss of economic gains from labour. I do believe that offering a quality education (SDG 4) we could help youth to make the transition from education to work less painful! #SDGs
Only 3 weeks left to apply for #UNLEASH2019, which is a global innovation lab, bringing together young people from all over the world to work on the @UN#SDGs! Apply via our website now https://t.co/qsfH9iSz3L! @UNLEASHlab
Spent great week with young researchers from #CentralAsia thanks to seminar series on #SDGs organized by univ. of #Bielefeld, univ. of #Dortmund and #GermanKazakh univ. in #Almaty. Main discussion topics included theories and methods for #research applied in CA region.
A survey of young persons in Kyrgyzstan on marriageable age conducted by the National Institute for Strategic Studies found that 87% of the respondents consider bride kidnapping to be a crime. The advocacy campaign by govt., CSOs, UN and others seems to be working. Kudos to all.
New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern became the first world leader in nearly 30 years to have a child while in office. She gave birth to a baby girl last week. https://t.co/bC32HzhLeZ

This is not fiction. This is not @HandmaidsOnHulu. These are real stories from real women. Survivors of sexual violence, FGM, forced marriage & sex trafficking. They’ve given their names. Keep hope alive by giving yours. #HopeLivesInEveryName https://t.co/yjcHFE3q9V
Many thanks to @gebel_michael and @VolkswagenSt for this opportunity and professional support during the development and conducting of semi-structured in-depth #interviews with informal workers in #Kyrgyzstan. https://t.co/84rk8CkUUC
Our PhD student Eliza @EMandieva conducted 22 semi-structured interviews with informal employees and self-employees in Kyrgyzstan. The gained data helps her to analyze patterns of informal employment in the transition states. Enjoy #fieldwork pics from her!
Conducting interviews isn't easy, esp. to get an access to sample group. Therefore it is important to have people who work & leave in the places of interviewing and have social relations. Thanks to Gulsana & Aiperi for helping our PhD @EMandieva during #fieldwork in #Kyrgyzstan!
