@Jennamc9 @Elsie2127 Yes. You feel so disempowered when you're unable to phone them when needed. And waiting around for incoming phone calls takes over your life. This would be one of the most effective ways of reducing the punishing impact of imprisonment on families & loved ones.

@RoryStewartUK Most people seem unable to recognise that prisoners aren't monstrous aliens, but are people a lot like them who came from, and will return to, normal society someday. Until people stop seeing prisoners as 'other', there will be no pressure on the government to improve prisons.

@MrsAMCx I used to do this as a child! I've got no expertise on who to approach about it (maybe both?) but it's definitely worth investigating- I still have problems with my achilles tendons decades later and they think it's linked to my toe walking.

@xmziex Amazing dissertation to write - possibly the most traumatic point of the whole sentence? I think there's an enormous need for information at that point -prison is an unknown and holds a lot of fear. Always think a point of contact like a family liaison officer would help so much.
