This morning I witnessed a postmortem examination, an experience that will stay with me. It was carried out with such respect and dignity, reminding me that care doesn’t end when life does. As a district nurse, it reinforced the importance of advance care planning. When we help patients express their wishes early, we’re not just planning for death we’re preserving their voice, values, and dignity right to the very end. It’s a powerful reminder of why our role matters in life, in dying, and in what comes after. #DistrictNursing #EndOfLifeCare #ACP #DeathLiteracy
