@RETSAssociates@GlobeStcom Have you ever traced on behalf of your clients the impact diversity can have on the bottom line? This is, not counting the moral imperative of diversity, a chief reason for companies to pursue such a goal, it seems to me. #DEIWhereAreWeNow
@jebean@GlobeStcom Have you found it difficult to recruit women for board members? I have read that some firms have had trouble with that. #DEIWhereAreWeNow
@GlobeStcom Interesting question. I can understand why companies want to stay neutral but it seems it is increasingly hard to do so when clients and stakeholders take a stand on certain issues. #DEIWhereAreWeNow
@ApartmentWire@GlobeStcom Have you appointed a chief diversity officer or some other title to take point on this issue? One person who is overseeing everything? #DEIWhereAreWeNow
@RETSAssociates@GlobeStcom Interesting because CRE is definitely male-dominated. Was there anything specific in your recruiting strategies that led to this outcome?
@GlobeStcom Even the most traditional of office-using companies are going to see the advantages of flexibility in their space, whether that be with their landlords and/or with design and the use of coworking space. There is a lot of talk about the new era of hybrid space. #DoWeNeedOffices
@GlobeStcom Smaller companies, preferably those that don't require a lot of team-on-team collaboration. The culture of the company is key. WFH is possible when a company is able to trust employees, is adept with technology and flexible. So companies with the right mindset. #DoWeNeedOffices
@GlobeStcom It depends where in the suburbs. There are some amazing work-live-play suburb developments that are walkable and a joy to work and live in. Others not so much. Once the pandemic passes - and it WILL pass -- amenities will be a key concern for companies again. #DoWeNeedOffices
@GlobeStcom Because of the long-term nature of leases it is hard to read anything into the fact that few companies have downsized their footprints. But the Amazon news is huge: it shows that forward-looking companies still see the office as important. #DoWeNeedOffices
@GlobeStcom Companies will lose their ability to innovate and be able to respond to events in a timely fashion. Less just in time communication among staff and stakeholders. Corporate culture takes a hit too #DoWeNeedOffices
@GlobeStcom I think it is too soon to call it a backlash. More that people are realizing that WFH doesn't fit all corporate needs. But WFH is definitely here to stay. #DoWeNeedOffices
@GlobeStcom Yes because not only are the tech companies such as Facebook and Google embracing it but more traditional companies, such as financial institutions have indicated that they were fine with it as well. The longer the pandemic lasts the more accepted it will be. #DoWeNeedOffices
