my favorite aspect of British politics is that it offers virtually no possibility of a graceful exit to the prime minister, just slightly different types and degrees of humiliation
“there should be a general election if the prime minister gets replaced” is such yankification of british politics it annoys me
keir starmer is not a president, we did not elect keir starmer as prime minister, we elected the labour party regardless of who the leader is
"I have accepted Keir Starmer's resignation as my chief servant and have invited Andy Burnham to lay out details for how many meals a day he'll give me"
andy burnham will be britain’s first prime minister in 16 years (and only the second this century) not to have been educated at oxford. a true man of humble beginnings, he went to fitzwilliam college, cambridge
People are missing the rather amusing detail that when Starmer resigns, Larry, the "Chief Mouser," will have served under EIGHT different prime ministers in fifteen years.
If rumours are to be believed I'll be living with a seventh different Prime Minister shortly. If it carries on like this I'm going to stop making the effort to learn their names.
