How do you approach the New Year? pessimist,optimist,goal-setter, prophetic word must-have or trends analyst? Thankfully the gospel as foundation gives us something better, stronger and freer. ‘Sunday’ sermon available on our @ENGrahamstown YouTube dropping at midnight tonight!
God’s word on reconciliation in Ephesians 2. God reconciled saints of every ethnicity to himself and each other at the cross. Now we must keep the unity of the Spirit. Message for @ENGrahamstown this Sunday.
The questions of our day are not being viewed as moral issues, but as identities...we therefore have to catechize the next generation not just in how to behave but in who they are (identity). Great talk by @JBStonestreet based on 📖 with @BrettKunkle,📚 is going for a bargain!
Work. According to a pre-COVID survey, 10% of teachers don't pitch for work every day. Academics wonder how to motivate students to learn. workaholism destroys marriages and families. Thankfully, the Supremacy of Christ transforms the way we work.@ENGrahamstown on Sunday.
Pt 3: As @NancyRPearcey wrote in her book’Total Truth’ (a must-read): “The danger is that if Christians don’t consciously develop a Biblical approach to the (academic) subject, then we will unconsciously absorb some other philosophical approach.
pt 2.reminded of this:as pastors,if we neglect to talk about ‘hot-button’ topics, out of fear of political incorrectness, the issues will NOT be swept under the church carpet. Rather, people we disciple will be flooded with unbiblical ideas leading them away from Christ.GO THERE!
Church highlights @ENGrahamstown pt 1: @ebenlochner shared a great message on the Supremacy of Christ’s resurrected life, as we continued our Colossians series. If you didn’t hear it, give it a listen, so good!
As we continue our series on Colossians, looking forward to hearing from Eben Lochner @ENGrahamstown as he applies the Supremacy of Christ to the new life we have in Christ!
Contemp Social Justice & Self-ism speak about justice&freedom, concepts we find in the Bible. But in so far as they give us a new definition of sin, salvation, our primary identity and purpose, they undermine the supremacy and sufficiency of Christ. Watch:

Sermon. Deconversion stories abound.ideas we embrace impact every area of our lives, even faith, for better or worse. No wonder Paul encourages us to build on the supremacy of Christ rather than hollow and deceptive philosophy. Trusting to encourage @ENGrahamstown via Colossians.
Of all the ideas and philosophies we come across, which ones are currently the most effective in taking Christians captive, drawing them away from Christ? Sunday,I’ll speak on two that I think are doing just that, in our Colossians series @ENGrahamstown
Jesus and Philosophy. Prepping for the next in our Colossians series. What would you say are the most common ideas/philosophies in your context that take believers in Christ captive?!
Sunday highlight. After sharing on Colossians 1,guy came afterwards and said: “I’ve been an atheist and a scientist for several years, but I’ve reached a point where I’ve seen that Science doesn’t have all the answers, and I am looking for something more.”Christ is big enough!
Pt 2: The Supremacy of Christ. As Colossians 1:16-18 declares...all things were created by him and for him. 17 He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 18... so that in everything he might have the supremacy.
Pt 1:The Supremacy of Christ. Looking forward to beginning our new sermon series @ENGrahamstown on Colossians: The Supremacy of Christ. If Christ is the Creator of, the Reason for, and the Sustainer of all things, his supremacy changes everything.
We have a generation sold endless attempts to make Christ likable and relevant, and Christian living focused on influence. Yet, they see there aren't better answers “out there.” They still crave truth, depth, and beauty in the Gospel.
