失敗しないウェイトペイントの基本と、最高のデフォームを目指す個人的な方法をまとめました。

【基本ルール】
・自動正規化は必ずオン。

・最も祖先にあたるボーン(大抵はヒップス)から、其々の末端へウェイト1にしていく。
ヒップス→チェスト→ヘッド
　↓　　　　↓
　↓　　　手の指
足の指

・ウェイト作業中、親と子のボーンの2本以外は必ずロックをかける。

・ひとつの部位が仕上がるまで、次を進めない。(後戻りやウェイトの飛散が発生するので、個人的に自動ウェイトは使わない。理解も深まる)

【最高のデフォームを出すコツ】
・標準ボーンとコンストレイントありきの最適解トポロジーは全く違う。

・ひとつの部位が仕上がるまで反復作業を繰り返すので、その部位の可動域のアニメーションを予め組んでおく。(タイムラインをスライドさせる事で、作業効率が大幅に上がる)

・コンストレイントを使う場合、親と子とコンストレイントの3本以外は必ずロックをかける。

・綺麗なデフォームが出せないなら、三角化してトポロジーを割る方向を手動で整えておく。

【最後に】
・均等なジオメトリが、必ずしも最高のデフォームになる保証はありません。
正方形に近いジオメトリはコンストレイントを増やせば増やす程、最高のデフォーム結果を得られますが、「1つの頂点につき4つのボーンの影響まで」というルールも崩れやすくなります。

アバターやゲームモデルでは、不必要なエッジを間引く事で、劇的にデフォームが改善される事もあります。
この辺りは取捨選択だと思うので、デフォームを優先するのか、シェーダーの影響を優先するのか、きちんと考える事も大事だと思います。
