@Bell_Aliant Why did it take you more than 8 hours to post this update? An interruption is when someone taps on your shoulder; this is an outage.
And why does your service status page on your website display an internal server error?
@BartoszMilewski It's very unfortunate because it's also my main barrier to using it for personal projects.
(BTW, thank you for your book & YouTube lessons on CT for programmers, Bartosz! Opened my eyes to an entire universe.)
@MenteFinanzas@liron@mSanterre I agree with what you're saying after the first sentence, but it has nothing to do with the argument at hand. Your first sentence is incorrect.
@BillboardChris I'd be more sympathetic to your case if 1) you hadn't put your hand on the other person first, and; 2) if your website was less rhetoric and more medical ethics.
It's a complex grey area, and I think you may be doing more harm than good, even if you have the best intentions.
@elonmusk@elonmusk Setting aside who's right and who's wrong for a moment... You literally have the-people-who-are-not-in-power (the students) protesting the-person-in-power (the dean).
Isn't "indoctrination in school" or "soviet-style indoctrination" the complete opposite of that?
@elonmusk I think the most remarkable thing about it all is how a single person can swing between two extremums of intelligence, in different contexts or situations.
Or how expertise does not always translate very well across domains (*ahem public health*).
@MaxedLuck@diveamerica@DefiantLs If you can't tell the difference between a religious consensus and a scientific consensus, we're going to need to sit through a lesson on the History of science before we have any hope of having a productive discussion.
And no, the data does not show what you think it shows.
@diveamerica@DefiantLs I know because I'm a biochemist, this is my area of expertise, the data supports it, and it's the scientific consensus. The balance of risks doesn't even come close, there is a difference of several orders of magnitude.
@bmweaver18@DefiantLs We're not talking about different tastes in music or food. Sometimes "different" means "more vulnerable" or "having less access to education", which is bad.
Golden zone: "minimum quality standards" at the nation-level + "additional standards" at state/prov level.
@hitler6000_@DefiantLs Effective at what? It sure does prevent these things, at the population scale.
Respectfully, you've forgotten the principles of action of vaccines, Mr Adolf Hitler. (Why do I even bother replying to Hitler as if it made any difference...)
