And if they can’t make it, that’s cool. Capture the show in a way that shows them what they missed out on. Inform them on what’s possible with the next show. I tell my team all the time: hundreds of people will be at the show, thousands will see it on the internet.

2. You should aim to create something people want to be a part of, not something they feel obligated to be a part of in fear of disappointing you. That kind of “support” doesn’t last. It’s people doing YOU a favor, not people going somewhere to enjoy a show.

I think it’s a dangerous thing to ‘expect’ someone to come to your shows/events. For a couple of reasons. 1. People don’t owe you anything. Ever. Friends, family, co workers. They have their own lives. The moment you start thinking people owe you “support” you’re losing.
