Today we're at @SPEnergyNetwork's Stakeholder Workshop, to help ensure the needs and views of vulnerable residents are included in future plans to facilitate the escalation of electrification, into the 2030s.
An interesting change from one field to the next viewed from this morning's train. Another good advert for using public transport. Also great reminder of our continued transition from fossil fuelled electricity generation - the now closed Fiddlers Ferry coal-fired power station.
Our Dom Griffiths couldn't resist a #LondonEyeSelfie during last night's @NEA_UKCharity reception at the @UKHouseofLords. Thank you for the invitation. We're delighted to be part of this national network of organisations, passionate about delivering solutions to end fuel poverty.
We were delighted to present our "Making Homes Warmer, Forever" presentation today, at @NEA_UKCharity's Northwest Fuel Poverty Forum. We introduced our "Warm Homes Healthy Futures" project, supporting patients with health conditions made worse by cold homes.
It's always great to hear from the Minister for Energy Consumers, @Miatsf MP. There are multiple challenges to be overcome, as we move towards Net Zero, and we need to see these as opportunities to work together, better. @insidehousing#WarmHomesSummit
Breakout 2: We're discussing damp & mould, and how to keep the resident at the heart of finding mutually beneficial solutions. Different people use homes differently - we need to build on this fact, and avoid any us/them confrontation. @insidehousing#WarmHomesSummit
Breakout 1: We're discussing the many problems with existing EPCs, and how smart monitoring tools can let landlords better design improvements to help provide cheaper bills in more energy efficient homes for their tenants. @insidehousing#WarmHomesSummit
Session 3: "Partnership" is the key, to unlocking economies of scale, to "do more with less." We were delighted to hear government is working to extend, and increase the value of the Warm Homes: Social Housing Fund, that has only launched today. @insidehousing#WarmHomesSummit
Session 2: We learned there's a financial case to be made for social landlords to integrate sustainability goals within compulsory safety upgrades, which sounds like a win-win, and likely applicable for private landlords, and home-owners too. @insidehousing#WarmHomesSummit
Session 1: "Putting tenants and residents at the core" will always resonate well with us. We heard some best practice for social landlords to move away from cold-calling, and assuming tenants are home all day, to involving them in planning design @insidehousing#WarmHomesSummit
At our #FuelPovertyConf, we heard harrowing stories about the realities of living in fuel poverty. Our session with Sirio Strategies, @cadentfund, @CitizensAdvice and @ep_plus is available to watch here. https://t.co/PnykgMcHzD
Final day of @NEA_UKCharity#fuelpovertyconf. @MetroMayorSteve says tackling fuel poverty is "a public health initiative" and requires trusted, local partners to advise, educate and support residents, so together we can make homes warmer, forever.
Dominic Griffiths, Business Relationship Manager at @EP_Plus, says his organisation has worked in Merseyside and Cheshire for almost 30 years. We're working together as part of our Warm Homes, Healthy Futures programme to help those in fuel poverty. #FuelPovertyConf
@NEA_UKCharity@CadentFund Dominic Griffiths explaining the importance of putting people first when tackling fuel poverty at NEA Fuel Poverty conference in Liverpool #fuelpoverty
We're delighted to be at @NEA_UKCharity's 2025 national #fuelpovertyconf at @CampandFurnace in Liverpool. Looking forward to providing our local insights into the national issues. @adam_scorer is here opening the conference, setting out the opportunities and challenges ahead.
We are very pleased to have secured the grant. It will help us collaborate with the health sector to tackle the cold homes that have a significant effect on people's health and wellbeing. #AffordablyWarmHomes
Congratulations to @EP_Plus for securing funding in phase two of the @ofgem Energy Redress Scheme.
The project will work with local organisations to provide energy advice and support to vulnerable residents in Merseyside.

As the year comes to a close, our Chief Executive reflects on real world experience gained by our charity during 2024, and the gap that remains between national targets for reducing carbon emissions and fuel poverty and actual delivery.

A pleasure to host Annie and Dan from @energygovuk + Tony from NW Net Zero Hub @LpoolCityRegion to share insights from our LEAD Demonstrator advice service, supporting greater take up of insulation and renewables in homes across Merseyside/Cheshire by making them "retrofit ready"
Looking forward to showcasing the valuable work of @BGEnergytrust at the Palace of Westminster. Such support is important especially during the cost of living crisis.
