๐ Blue Watch had a fantastic time visiting Cambridge Road Primary School! We spoke to a class about fire safety, watched some great videos, and took part in a fun quiz. Then, everyone got a chance to use the hose (almost soaking the teacher! ๐)!

Its electrical fire safety week!
Ensure young ones in the home are aware of the dangers electric can pose.
NEVER charge laptops on carpets or beds as they will overheat and can cause fire!
ALWAYS charge devices such as phones and tablets on a hard surface.
Keep fire safe with portable heaters: Use your heater on a flat surface, keep the heater away from anything flammable, buy new from trustworthy sellers, register your heater to keep up to date with product recalls and safety info. NEVER cover or use your heater to dry clothing.
Christmas is just a few days away and your trees are up! but remember... heat and lack of water will dry out the tree very quickly, keep the tree stand filled with water which will help your tree from drying out and becoming more flammable. Keep your tree away from heat sources.
White Watch attended Parklands Primary School and spoke to lots of students during assembly regarding fire safety in their homes, then we got to discuss The Great Fire of London with a class and a KS2 fire safety talk to another. We still had time to show them our fire engine ๐
To make sure you have a scary but safe Halloween here are some tips ๐ป
Keep your child away from ignition sources
Replace candles in pumpkins with battery powered candle
Remember STOP, DROP and ROLL in case your costume does catch fire
Cool any burns with large amounts of water
We've had a visit from Rivacre Primary School to talk about what we do as firefighters to keep people safe. We showed the children the fire engine and equipment we use. We also talked to the class about Bonfire night and the do's and don'ts of using fireworks and sprinklers.

White Watch have been completing their monthly training on the Water Bowser this afternoon. Banksmen are used to assist in the dropping of the Water Bowser so it can be left at incidents. Demonstrated here by FF Wynne
Lighting your open fires with the colder weather? ๐ฅ
Here are some top tips for safer chimneys:
- Keep chimneys clean and well maintained
- Make sure embers are properly put out before bed
- Use a fire guard to protect against flying sparks from hot embers
Today White Watch has been at the National Waterways Museum in Ellesmere Port with members of staff from across Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service as part of the #CheshirefireSafetyDay
They have spoken to narrowboat residents and visitors about fire safety & water safety ๐ ๐ฅ
