@clanghoff1 Not to avoid the question, but the question of validity is statistical and we simply don't have the data. But we can say, as you've noted, that the practice concerned us enough that we did not renew our bid to provide the ISEE for BPS exam school admissions.
@clanghoff1 3/3 The ISEE has not been shown to be invalid or unfair for students of color. We just have not had enough data from students of color to declare it statistically devoid of bias. But we're working on it! We're revising ISEE prompts and reviewing exam questions RIGHT NOW.
@clanghoff1 2/3 We recommend looking at subtest scores individually to get a well-rounded view of each student, specifically examining reasoning ability alongside achievement so that students have multiple chances to shine. BPS was creating composite scores for students.
