Give Beta 105 a try and let us know what you think!
We've been busy building, and there's a lot more on the way! π
Over the past few releases, we've introduced significant improvements to the Universal Profiles Browser Extension, expanding its capabilities, refining existing features, and making everyday interactions with web3 easier.
With Extension Beta 105 now live, here's a closer look at what's changed and where we're heading.
π More capabilities, all from your Universal Profile
Your Universal Profile is becoming a more complete interface for interacting with web3.
You can now:
β’ Manage tokens and collectibles
β’ Send and receive assets
β’ Explore your transaction history
β’ Connect to dApps and manage their permissions
β’ Review controllers and profile access
The new Chrome sidebar keeps your profile accessible as you browse, while the expanded full-page wallet brings your assets, activity, and settings together in one place.
βοΈ Continuous improvements, beyond new features
With Beta 105, we've introduced direct access to your profile on Universal Everything, compatibility with the mobile app's newer backup encryption format, smoother navigation, and stronger password protection for newly created backups.
We've also addressed issues affecting token balances, transfers, backup restoration, and profile management.
These might not all be headline-grabbing changes, but they're essential to making Universal Profiles more reliable and practical for everyday use.
π Building toward a better web3 experience
Our vision has never been simply to introduce new standards or add more features.
It's about making onchain identity genuinely useful.
Your digital identity, assets, permissions, and connections should work together as part of a coherent experience, rather than feeling like disconnected pieces of infrastructure.
That's what we're continuing to build.
There's still plenty to improve, and our team is actively developing, testing, and refining the Universal Profiles experience, with more updates and functionality on the way.
Thank you to everyone testing the beta releases, reporting issues, and sharing feedback. Your contributions help shape what we build next.
We're building for the long term, and we're looking forward to sharing what's next. β¨
This is the part I'm most excited about.
On @hupsocial, an agent isn't a bot account on someone's server. It has its own wallet, its own profile, and every post and tip it makes is onchain.
Its identity and history outlive any platform, including us.
Tips fuel the useful ones. Spam pays its own way out.
The next generation of social networks won't be built for humans alone. π€
AI agents need identities, permissions, and places to interact, too.
Universal Profiles provide the foundation. @hupsocial is opening up new possibilities.
Hup Bridge is live (beta) π
Bring any ERC20, or ETH, from Base to LUKSO, and hold it on your Universal Profile as an LSP7.
π Lock: your tokens are locked in the Hup vault on Base
βοΈ Attest: Hup checks the deposit onchain and signs a receipt (it never holds your funds)
π Claim: you claim the LSP7 on LUKSO, backed 1:1, icon included
Going back works the same way: burn on LUKSO, release on Base.
More chains are coming. It's in beta, so start with a small amount.

You bring the creativity, the friendships, the community. Then you leave the platform and start from zero.
We think you should get to keep what you build. π

The best onchain products increasingly hide the blockchain work from the creator. π
@upturnOS is moving in that direction with its APE publishing flow on LUKSO, where software handles the release process instead of asking artists to manage every technical step themselves. β¨
Tunnel is live. π
Tunnel is a private chat app that keeps everything onchain: your messages, your contacts, your social reactions, your profile, even which chats you pinned. It runs on Base, and it works with your LUKSO Universal Profile.
https://t.co/7TtHUn5ZJj
β End-to-end encrypted
Every message, photo and voice note is encrypted in your browser before it leaves your device. IPFS stores only the ciphertext, and the chain stores only a pointer to it. Only you and the person you're talking to can read it. Not us, and not the relayer that sends it.
β No gas, no popups, no sign-up
No email and no phone number. Pick a 4-digit passcode and the app creates a wallet for you right in your browser. We pay the network fee for every chat action, so you never see a wallet popup or need to buy gas to say hi.
β Everything onchain
There's no Tunnel database. There's no Indexer. Your account lives on Base:
β’ Messages: sending, editing, deleting and reacting are all transactions. Tap View Transaction on any message to open it in the explorer. A hollow circle means the relay has your message, and a filled one means it's onchain.
β’ Contacts: your contact list is saved onchain, encrypted. That includes the name and picture you save for someone, plus their phone numbers, emails, company, birthday and notes.
β’ Pin, favorite and mute: each is saved in that encrypted list, so a chat you pin on your phone is pinned on your laptop too.
β’ Block: the people you block are kept in the same encrypted list.
β’ Message requests: people you haven't added can still reach you. Their request goes onchain sealed, so only you can open it and see who it's from. It lands in Requests.
β’ Profile: your name, bio and picture are onchain and public, the way a profile should be.
β’ Chat key: published once, with proof it's yours, so anyone can start an encrypted chat with you from your address.
β Private by design
Your wallet appears onchain only once, to publish your chat key. After that, each conversation is sent from its own key, derived from your private vault. Onchain, your chats look unrelated to each other and to your wallet. Your contact list is saved under yet another key, so it isn't tied to your wallet either.
β Chat the way you're used to
Photos (paste them in or take one with the camera), voice messages, GIFs, emoji, reactions, replies, forwarding, message search and a media gallery for every chat. Filter your inbox by Unread, Direct, Favorites and Requests. Choose light, dark or system, and pick a wallpaper, Base included.
β Rooms
Rooms are public chats anyone can read. Posts, edits, reactions and moderation all happen onchain, in a contract separate from your private chats, so posting in a Room never reveals which private conversations you're in. A Room can be open to everyone, members-only or moderators-only, with an optional slow mode. Moderators can hide posts and mute spammers.
β Bring your LUKSO Universal Profile
Tunnel runs on Base for low fees and fast blocks. In the app, your Universal Profile is called a smart account. Choose "Continue with smart account", sign one message, and your Universal Profile's name and picture show on every message you send.
Linking needs no transaction and no gas. It gives Tunnel no control over your Universal Profile, and nothing it holds can be moved. The link is checked live, so if you remove the controller that signed it, the link disappears. Your name and picture stay on your Universal Profile: edit them there and Tunnel shows the change.
β Money in the chat
Pay the person you're talking to without leaving the conversation. Transfers go peer to peer, straight from your wallet to theirs, and Tunnel never holds your funds. Send USDC or native coins on 10 networks: Arc, Base, Ethereum, Arbitrum, OP Mainnet, Unichain, BNB Chain, Celo, Monad and LUKSO. Arc comes first: USDC is Arc's own coin, so the fee is paid in USDC too, with no second token to buy. You have one address on every network, and Receive shows it as a QR code. Transfers pay their own network fee. Free gas is for chat.
β Yours on every device
One recovery key restores your account, contacts and chat history on any device. You can also link a new phone by scanning a code from one you're signed in on. You can keep several accounts on one device and switch between them in Settings. Add Tunnel to your home screen and it runs like an app.
β What's public
Onchain means public, so here's what anyone can see: that a wallet registered a chat key and when, and, for each conversation, when messages were sent, how many there are and how big they are. Editing or deleting hides a message in the app, but the encrypted original stays in chain history. What you say, who is in your contacts, and which wallet is behind which chat stay private.
β Day one
Message a friend, open a Room, link your Universal Profile, and tell us what breaks.
