The moment Romania 🇷🇴 has received 12 points from the Jury in Luxembourg 🇱🇺
A schéine gudden owend indeed, as the Jury in Luxembourg has awarded their 12 points to our own Alexandra Căpitănescu - a very pleasant surprise indeed!
As a matter of fact, Luxembourg is the country that awarded Romania the most amount of points this year - receiving 22 out of 24 maximum possible points from the Grand Dutchy!
What's even more interesting is that this is the first time Romania and Luxembourg compete at the Eurovision Song Contest together, so what a lovely start of a musical and cultural exchange between us!
Thank you, Luxembourg - we hope we can repay the gesture next year! ✨

@Kellyforwomen@BBC That's the exact problem - you haven't read the lyrics properly.
It reads:
"All I need is your love, I want IT to Choke Me".
She wants to be overwhelmed by the love of the said partner in the song, not trampled by negativity.
We speak for both ourselves and Alexandra herself when we say we come from a country where violence against women is at alarming levels - and we couldn't accept or agree with such practices against women (or people, at any rate). It is disgraceful and dehumanizing.
The problem here is how you interpret the message in a way that is convenient to you and try to raise awareness against something that has no fundament whatsoever.
The answer remains the same - Alexandra is an artist that deserves to shine on the Eurovision stage and has the right to freedom of artistic expression. And, thankfully, no narrow minded people will be able to change that.
Thank you for the time on this matter!

”Choke Me” is an anthem for those who feel overwhelmed by daily life and by emotions that literally cripple you - and all the person in the song wishes for is to be showered with love, or to be more precise, overwhelmed by it.
Taking the message as a metaphor for literal choking is a gross understatement and, if we dare say, an insult - especially when time and time again things have been explained by the singer herself.
Please use your time more constructively to actively work to combat household violence and femicide - not by accusing a 22 year old of being pro-strangulation.
Unfortunately, the 'Choke me' Eurovision song went through to the finals.
Please sign and share the petition, for the @BBC to not to air it.
